BREAKING NEWS Woman dies after she is found with serious burns near car fire at Salt Ash
A woman has died after she was discovered seriously burned near to a car fire. The 43-year-old woman was found near to a pond suffering serious burns about 10.45pm on Saturday at a property near Salt Ash, New South Wales. Emergency services responded to reports of a car fire in the area, north of Newcastle, before discovering the woman. Paramedics were unable to revive the 43-year-old and she was declared dead at the scene.

Woman found with serious burns dies after car fire at Salt Ash
A police investigation is underway after a woman died at a property at Salt Ash, near Newcastle, overnight. Emergency services were called to a fire at a property on Nelson Bay Road about 10:45pm on Saturday night. Police say a vehicle was found alight and a woman next to a nearby pond had suffered serious burns. The 43-year-old was unable to be revived and was declared deceased by paramedics. Police have established a crime scene and are speaking to witnesses. Police are urging anyone with information about the matter to contact Port Stephens-Hunter Police District or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
