Saltville issues boil water advisory for Poor Valley area
SALTVILLE, Va. (WJHL) — State health officials have issued a boil water notice for the Poor Valley area of Saltville. The Smyth County Water and Sewer Department said the advisory is due to a power outage at Saltville's Red Rock Tank. All water used for cooking, making ice and brushing teeth must be brought to a boil to be considered safe for consumption. PHOTOS: Damage seen regionwide after overnight storms, local EMAs report Water used for bathing, washing dishes and other instances when water is not ingested is safe.
