Rasamny, ICAO discuss enhanced cooperation on airport infrastructure and aviation safety at FALC 2025

NNA – Minister of Public Works and Transport, Fayez Rasamny, held a high-level meeting with Salvatore Sciacchitano, President of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council, and Juan Carlos Salazar, Secretary General of ICAO, on the sidelines of the 2025 Facilitation Conference (FALC 2025) currently underway in Doha. Also present at the meeting were Mohamed Abu Baker Farea, ICAO's Regional Director for the Middle East Office, and Jorge Vargas, Director of the Capacity Development and Implementation Bureau (CDI), along with members of the Lebanese delegation: Director General of Civil Aviation Amin Jaber, Head of Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport Kamal Nassereddine, Head of Aviation Safety Omar Qaddouha, and the Minister's Legal Advisor Hadi Moussa. The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between ICAO and Lebanon, particularly in the areas of infrastructure development at Beirut Airport, aviation safety enhancement, and facilitation services. Discussions also covered Lebanon's access to ICAO's technical assistance programs under the 'No Country Left Behind' initiative. FALC 2025, organized by ICAO, brings together representatives from 190 member states and serves as a key global platform for discussing aviation facilitation policies and advancing international cooperation in civil aviation. ==========R.H.

DOHA: The State of Qatar has signed an administrative services agreement with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The agreement signing was attended by Minister of Transport HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Thani, and President of the ICAO Council Salvatore Sciacchitano. The signing took place on the sidelines of the ICAO Facilitation Conference (FALC 2025), which kicked off on Monday in Doha. The agreement was signed by Acting Director-General of the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority Mohammed Faleh Al Hajri and Secretary General of ICAO Juan Carlos Salazar.
