On Tuesday, Aug. 12, Vancouver's Queen Elizabeth Theatre and promoter MODO-Live shared a joint statement on behalf of the singer-songwriter on Instagram, who currently has Jay Som on the road with her as support.
"Unfortunately, Lucy Dacus and Jay Som must postpone their shows in Vancouver tonight (8/12) and tomorrow (8/13) due to illness," the statement read. "We'll be in touch shortly with information for all ticket holders."
The announcement was made just two hours before the doors were set to open at the venue.
No further details regarding the illness were provided.
A rep for Dacus has not yet responded to PEOPLE's request for comment.
On Aug. 2, Dacus, 30, recently performed at the Osheaga Music Festival in Montreal, where she did a surprise duet with The Killers, who were headlining at the Parc Jean-Drapeau, per fan-captured YouTube footage.
Dacus took the stage with frontman Brandon Flowers for a rendition of the rock group's 2006 Sam's Town single 'Read My Mind.'
Following the set, the "Ankles" performer wrote on X, "Who… has a video of me singing with the killers tonight (I'm dead)."
Dacus' sang an acoustic rendition of the track back in November 2018 with the indie-rock supergroup Boygenius at Los Angeles' Wiltern Theatre, per fan-captured YouTube footage.
But the "Modigliani" musician hadn't performed the song live in nearly seven years until the is currently in the midst of her Forever Is a Feeling tour, supporting her 2025 album of the same name.
In March, she spoke to PEOPLE about Forever Is a Feeling, revealing she had never been as vulnerable about love in her music.
'I just couldn't really fight what I was feeling on a deeper level,' Dacus told PEOPLE at the time. 'Even if it didn't make sense, I had to see about it.'
According to the "Thumbs" performer, she "was really moved in an instinctual way instead of a think-y way" when it came to the music.
"I think a lot of love is, dare I say, cerebral," Dacus added.
She is set to resume performing on Saturday, Aug. 16 in Berkeley, Calif.
