Dog owner arrested following series of attacks

A dog owner has been arrested on suspicion of having their animal dangerously out of control following a series of attacks. Wiltshire Police seized a dog and arrested a 33-year-old woman on Thursday in connection with the incidents, which happened in the Moredon area of Swindon over the last month. One person and two dogs were attacked in April, and a cat was also killed on 3 May. Wiltshire Police, which has thanked the public for helping identify the woman, said she is in custody and being questioned. Pensacola Habitat for Humanity opens NWFL Community Land Trust application

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — The Pensacola Habitat for Humanity has opened its Northwest Florida Community Land Trust homebuyer application. 'The CLT is a shared equity model designed to make homeownership attainable for low-income households,' read an HFH release. Pensacon 2025 to feature blood drive — donors get a T-shirt and more HFH officials said this is an alternative to 'renting for qualified households by separating ownership of the land from the home.' Homeowners in the CLT will be able to own the house but not the land the house sits on and will sign a 99-year ground lease for the land, according to the HFH release. 'Our goal is to create and maintain affordable homeownership beyond a closing date,' Pensacola Habitat for Humanity's CLT program manager Alica Popper said. 'The stewardship of land through the CLT provides not just a solution today but creates permanent affordability for generations to come.' Pensacola's HFH's President and CEO Sam Young announced how the CLT would help transform affordable housing in September at a special luncheon. 'The CLT model will create new, permanent affordable housing in our community, and will have the greatest impact on the most amount of people,' Pensacola Habitat for Humanity's vice president of programs Betsy McDonald said. In order to be eligible, applicants must: Have a credit score of 640 A minimum income of $35,000 for Escambia County homes $30,000 for Santa Rosa County homes.
