RAIPUR: Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday convened a review meeting to assess the initiatives and programs of the Panchayat and Agriculture Department. During a joint press conference with CM Vishnu Deo Sai, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, " Today, I am happy that under the leadership of PM Modi, we have fulfilled the promise of providing housing to eligible beneficiaries in the the formation of the government, we allocated over 8 lakh houses in Chhattisgarh ...In the last government, there was a state scheme to provide houses, but the houses were left half-constructed. I appreciate CM Vishnu Deo Sai for completing the construction of these houses. We have started a new survey for the construction of new houses." Meanwhile, the Chhattisgarh government's "Samadhan Shivir" initiative has achieved significant success in Bastar district, resolving 85% of cases on the spot. The program, which was organised in 13-14 Gram Panchayats of Jagdalpur district, saw over 4,000 applications being addressed, with most cases related to the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). The Samadhan Shivir initiative is a testament to the government's commitment to improving public services and addressing the needs of its citizens. Earlier on May 6, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister reviewed the progress of the Samadhan camps in Kawardha town, a municipality in Kabirdham district, a initiative aimed at addressing public grievances and providing solutions to various problems faced by the people. CM Vishnu Deo Sai while interacting with people, inquired whether government schemes are reaching them effectively. The CM's efforts aim to ensure that the benefits of government initiatives are reaching the intended beneficiaries and to identify areas that require further attention.

After a delay of about an hour and switching aircrafts, the team proceeded to Janjgir before continuing to Karigaon. Listening to one villager after another, the CM responded to their requests and complaints, announcing beautification of the Noni Maiya Dai temple, ordered weekly village visits by the patwari (revenue officer) to resolve land-related issues, promised a new Gram Panchayat Bhavan, encouraged farmers to adopt low-water-use crops in light of depleting groundwater levels, and directed the collector to survey disputed land near the village pond. CM Sai also visited the home of Sonai Bai, a beneficiary of the PM Awas Yojana (housing scheme). Other villagers raised the need for more houses under the scheme, prompting the CM to advise everyone to ensure their names are registered during the ongoing survey, which continues until May 15. Later in the day, the CM's helicopter landed in Madanpur village in Korba district, where he held another Samadhan Shivir (Grievance Resolution Camp). MLAs, MPs, and cabinet ministers have also been assigned responsibilities to assist in the effort, aiming to rebuild trust in govt services through visibility, accountability, and action. Addressing the gathering, CM Sai said, "The goal of our govt is not just to create schemes, but to ensure they reach the last beneficiary on the ground. Good governance is rooted in direct dialogue with the people." CM Sai further advised farmers to consider cultivating low-water-consuming crops during the summer to conserve groundwater and reduce electricity bills—ensuring higher profits and sustainability.
