Durian season is upon us, which means that it's the best time to indulge in the king of fruit. If you want to enjoy some free-flow durian, several restaurants and supermarkets are offering all-you-can-eat buffets for not just the fruit, but unique durian dishes too like Durian Chicken Soup and Sambal Durian Roasted Chicken. Interested? Here are a few options to consider. Paradox Singapore Merchant Court Every Thursday from July 10 to Aug 7, Paradox Singapore Merchant Court will hold an event called the Royal Durian Bazaar. Here, guests can tuck into unlimited servings of durian varieties like Musang King and D24, which will be served from a riverside live stall. Mangosteens will also be available to balance out the durian's bold flavours. The Royal Durian Bazaar is available from 6pm to 8.30pm and costs $138++ for adults and $50++ for children aged six to 12 years old. For the more adventurous durian lovers, from June 2 to Aug 31, the hotel's Ellenborough Market Cafe will have buffet featuring innovative durian dishes. This includes Durian Chicken Soup, Sambal Durian Roasted Chicken, Seafood with Spicy Coconut Durian Sauce, Cauliflower Durian Gratin, Wok-fried Salted Egg Durian Pork and Clam Kuah Durian Pedas. Carb-wise, there is Bacon Durian Cream Pasta and Durian Seafood Fried Rice. For desserts, indulge in options like Durian Triple Cheesecake, Durian Hazelnut Eclair, Durian Gula Malacca Swiss Roll and Durian Pandan Waffles. For weekday lunch (12pm to 2.30pm) from Mondays to Thursdays, adults pay $68++ and kids pay $28++. For weekday dinners (6pm to 10pm), it's $88++ for adults and $38++ for children. During the weekends (Fridays to Sundays) and public holidays, only dinner service is available, with the first seating from 6pm to 8pm and the second from 8pm to 10pm. This will be located at Adventure Cove Waterpark's The Bay Restaurant from 6pm to 7.30pm. Guests will get to enjoy a buffet of durians including Mao Shan Wang, Red Prawn and D24. There will also be food from Chinese restaurant Dian Xiao Er, as well as fresh seasonal fruits like rambutans and mangosteens. Tickets cost $268 per pax and can be purchased on the RWS website. There will be free-flow Musang King Durians available at the outdoor live station of Food capital. Apart from that, the durian buffet will have a spread of Asian and Western offerings, fresh seafood and durian-infused dishes. For durian-infused dishes, diners can look forward to interesting options like Durian Laksa, Kampung-style Durian Fried Rice, Roasted Chicken with Durian Glaze and Durian Quiche. End off the meal with sweet treats like Durian Sweet Potato Tartlets, Durian Panna Cotta, and Mini Durian Cream Puffs. In addition to the SG60 Durian Fiesta offerings, the hotel will also play host to new durian-inspired ice cream flavours by renowned local brand Udders. These are available at Food Capital's dessert live station on a rotational basis and there are flavours like Durian Cheesecake, Durian Pengat and Emperor Mao. Lunch from Mondays to Saturdays cost $72++ for adults and $36++ for children. Dinner from Sundays to Thursdays cost $118++ for adults and $59++ for children, while dinners from Fridays to Saturdays cost $128++ for adults and $64++ for children. FairPrice Xtra Jem will hold their durian event from July 25 to 27 while FairPrice Xtra VivoCity will do so from Aug 1 to 3. Buffet sessions start from 2pm. There are two options for diners to choose from. The first is the Regular Buffet, which comes with an unlimited serving of Red Prawn, D101, D13 and Kampung durians. This costs $65 per pax. The second is called the Gold Buffet and comes with unlimited Musang King, Pahang Old Tree Mao Shan Wang, Black Gold, on top of the varieties available in the Regular Buffet. This costs $85 per pax. Each buffet session also includes coconut water and up to 300g worth of mangosteen. Interested parties who reserve a spot by July 10 can enjoy $10 off their booking.
