Dr. Sampath Kumar Ensures Water Supply to RDS Canal Farmers and Reviews Indiramma Housing Progress in Alampur

Gadwal: AICC Secretary and former Alampur MLA Dr. S.A. Sampath Kumar took prompt action to support farmers facing irrigation issues near the RDS (Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme) canal in Vallur village of Erravelli Mandal. After personally inspecting the RDS canal area and interacting with local farmers, he found that the nearby agricultural fields were not receiving adequate water supply from the canal. Responding swiftly, Dr. Sampath Kumar contacted Irrigation Department officials via phone and held discussions to resolve the issue. He instructed them to immediately release water from the lift irrigation system to ensure the farmers' crops receive the required water. He emphasized that no farmer should suffer due to lack of irrigation and directed the department to take urgent action. Following the inspection of the irrigation canal, Dr. Sampath Kumar also visited Koil Dinne village in Vadddepalli Mandal to review the progress of houses being built under the Indiramma Housing Scheme. He assessed the quality and pace of construction and interacted with beneficiaries. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sampath Kumar criticized the previous TRS government for failing to deliver a single double-bedroom house during its ten-year rule. In contrast, he stated that within just one year of coming to power, the Congress-led Revanth Reddy government has begun allotting Indiramma houses to every eligible poor family across the state. He noted that not only have the houses been sanctioned, but funds are also being directly credited into the beneficiaries' accounts to facilitate swift construction. Sampath Kumar emphasized that the Congress government's aim is to bring happiness to the eyes of the poor through inclusive and people-centric governance. Grateful beneficiaries expressed their thanks to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Dr. Sampath Kumar for their commitment and support. Dalits will never believe BRS: AICC secretary Sampath Kumar

AICC secretary Sampath Kumar hit out at BRS MLA T. Harish Rao alleging that his statements on Kaleshwaram and water release by the government were incoherent indicating his frustration more than anything else. Speaking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday, Mr. Sampath Kumar said the government releases water based on need, in stages. It's a continuous, planned process. He asked Mr. Harish Rao not to play to the gallery by warning that he would go and release water from the projects if the government doesn't do so. 'When water is released based on the needs, Mr. Rao will claim credit, saying it happened because of him. This is political opportunism and nothing to do with reality,' he said. Targeting BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, Mr. Sampath Kumar wondered whether Dalits would believe the BRS party. 'Don't use Dalits as political tools. After 10 years in power, you have nothing to show except dismissing Dalit Deputy Chief Minister T Rajaiah overnight and using third-degree methods on Dalits protesting illegal sand mining,' he said. Unlike the BRS government, the Revanth Reddy government has four Dalit ministers, he said while accusing the BRS of diverting SC sub-plan funds. 'We have allocated ₹30,000 crore for Dalit welfare. That is the real difference.'

Alampur 100-Beds Government Hospital to Open from Tomorrow

Gadwal: In a major boost to public healthcare in the Alampur region, the 100-bed government hospital — a long-pending demand of the local population — is finally set to commence operations from Wednesday, July 23. This development comes through the determined efforts of Dr. SA Sampath Kumar, former Alampur MLA and All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretary. The hospital, which was sanctioned and constructed during Dr. Sampath Kumar's previous tenure as MLA, had remained non-functional for several years. Despite the completion of the building, the previous BRS-led administration failed to appoint staff or provide medical facilities, drawing sharp criticism from the public. Though the BRS leadership hastily inaugurated the hospital just before the general elections, it lacked even basic medical personnel. As a result, the facility remained idle, becoming symbolic of political tokenism rather than functional development. Following the formation of the Congress government under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Dr. Sampath Kumar took personal interest in the revival of the hospital. He conducted site inspections, held discussions with health officials, and ensured the appointment of doctors, nurses, and support staff. His proactive measures have made it possible for the hospital to officially begin offering services to the public from tomorrow. Dr. Sampath Kumar emphasized that the people of Alampur deserve dignified and accessible healthcare, and called upon residents to make full use of the services provided. He reiterated the Congress government's commitment to strengthening rural healthcare infrastructure across the state. Local citizens have welcomed the move with gratitude, expressing hope that the hospital will now function efficiently and provide much-needed relief, especially during emergencies and seasonal illnesses. This hospital's revival is seen not just as a healthcare milestone, but also as a reflection of the Congress party's renewed focus on grassroots development.

Congress has three volumes on KTR's misdeeds, says AICC secretary Sampath

HYDERABAD: In a veiled attack on former minister and BRS working president K T Rama Rao, AICC secretary B Sampath Kumar on Saturday claimed that the ruling Congress has compiled evidence of the former IT minister's alleged wrongdoings. He said the party had documented Rama Rao's alleged misdeeds in three large volumes but had so far revealed only a single page. Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, Sampath Kumar said, 'There are three volumes — 'Kalvakuntla Katha Kamameesu', 'Ravu Gari Rasaleelalu', and 'Tarak Todella Kathalu'. If we open them, you will hang yourself.' He added that the Congress government had refrained from disclosing certain matters in order to uphold the dignity of Telangana politics. 'There are more 'books' yet to be released, containing controversial political episodes involving KTR and other BRS leaders,' he said. Sampath Kumar also accused Rama Rao of crossing the line in his political rhetoric. Criticising KTR's 'conflicting stance' on meeting TDP leader Nara Lokesh, he questioned the need for denial if there was nothing improper about such interactions.

AI-powered mosquito control programme at 66 locations across Andhra Pradesh soon

Vijayawada: The municipal administration and urban development dept will soon launch a focused 'smart mosquito control' programme using deep technology to check vector-borne diseases. The artificial intelligence-powered smart mosquito surveillance system (SMoSS) would be launched on a pilot basis at 66 locations in six major municipal corporations in the state. SMoSS will primarily safeguard public health by curbing the dreaded mosquito menace, besides reducing operational burden on civic staff and helping in cutting costs of urban local bodies. The programme will be closely and monitored with the help of internet-of-things like drones, sensors, heat maps, and traps. "We will launch the pilot project at 16 locations in Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation, four in Kakinada, five in Rajamahendravaram, 28 in Vijayawada, seven in Nellore, and six in Kurnool," said P Sampath Kumar, director of municipal administration. Principal secretary Suresh Kumar and Sampath Kumar recently studied the AI-powered SMoSS, developed by a private agency, to assess its efficacy. The AI-powered smart mosquito sensors will be installed in key mosquito-prone zones in the selected municipal cities and towns as part of the pilot project. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Why seniors are rushing to get this Internet box – here's why! SMoSS will trigger automatic alerts when mosquito density crosses a threshold level in any particular area. Data thus generated will be continuously streamed to a central server and visualized on a real-time dashboard. "This will enable close monitoring and ensure prompt fumigation in the affected areas in a data-driven approach for effective control of mosquitoes instead of the present 'blind spraying' process that has little impact. The IoT sensors will monitor mosquito density and guide the targeted activity," explained Sampath Kumar. Use of drones for spraying the larvicide would result in an efficient application by covering large areas with less chemical use, time and also cost. Evidence-based spraying, prevention of chemical overuse and promotion of public health safety are the key elements in the whole operation. "We plan to outsource the operations completely to specialized agencies and payment will be result-oriented by fixing operational accountability. Complaints, if any, from the citizens and field-level functionaries will be tracked via mobile applications (Vector Control and Puramitra)," said principal secretary Suresh Kumar.
