Galaxy S25 FE camera specs leak — and it looks pretty disappointing

Another leak, more disappointment for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 FE. Over on X, regular tipster Yogesh Brar posted a simple tweet revealing some specs for the cameras that should feature on Samsung's next budget S-series phone. For those looking for an upgrade, don't expect one. Brar's specs for the rear cameras are the exact same as last year's Samsung Galaxy S24 FE which featured a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultra wide and an 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. The only update the S25 FE cameras might get is on the front-facing lens which bumps up to 12MP from 10MP. It's unfortunate news coupled with an earlier leak from April that claimed the S25 FE would featuring the same Exynos 2400e as last year's phone. In general, Samsung's FE phones are budget-friendly handsets released a few months after the mainline Galaxy S-series devices. Usually, they offer lower power for a lower price. Last year's S24 FE model though was nearly on a par with the Samsung Galaxy S24 while costing $200 less. So far, the rumor mill is painting a picture of a phone that shares some key components with a phone that already exists. Hopefully, there will be some bigger differences when the phone is expected to launch in October. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips.

More Galaxy S25 FE details have leaked, camera specs may not pack any surprise

As we approach the September-October window, more leaks and rumours about the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE are expected to surface. In the latest development, a new report hints at the possible rear camera setup of the upcoming Fan Edition phone. According to Galaxy Club, the Galaxy S25 FE is likely to feature an 8-megapixel telephoto lens — so don't expect a major leap in zoom performance. The primary and ultra-wide cameras are expected to be 50-megapixel and 12-megapixel, respectively. This setup sounds familiar, as it's the same as what we saw on the Galaxy S24 FE, though Samsung might swap out the sensors this time — that part remains unclear for the bright side, the Galaxy S25 FE could get a proper front-camera upgrade. According to an earlier leak, the 10-megapixel selfie shooter may be replaced by a 12-megapixel unit — and while that doesn't sound like a big jump on paper, the real change could come from the sensor Samsung chooses and how well it's assured, more details about the Galaxy S25 FE will continue to surface as we get closer to launch. But if you're expecting a revolutionary upgrade, you might want to tone down your expectations. Think of this more as an evolutionary update to the S24 FE — one that fine-tunes a few things instead of reinventing the wheel. Design-wise, don't expect the Galaxy S25 FE to stand out from the rest of the Galaxy S25 series. It'll likely follow Samsung's familiar design language — clean, minimal, and modern — though we're curious to see if it manages to shave off a bit of thickness. On the front, you can expect a flat AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a centre-aligned hole-punch for the selfie camera, and slim bezels all around. It should look and feel every bit like a premium Galaxy phone, just with the Fan Edition about pricing or availability are still under wraps. However, if Samsung follows its usual Fan Edition timeline, the Galaxy S25 FE should see a launch sometime between September and October. Some rumours also suggest that Samsung may launch the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE as well — which would be the first-ever Fan Edition foldable for the price, expect the Galaxy S25 FE to land under the Rs 60,000 mark — making it a more affordable entry into the Galaxy S25 family without giving up too much in terms of from this, Samsung recently unveiled the Galaxy S25 Edge at a starting price of $1,099 or Rs 1,09,999 in India. The company's next big launches are expected in July, where the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and possibly Samsung's triple-fold phone may debut.

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE's telephoto and ultrawide camera details leak

A few days ago a leak told us that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 FE would have an upgraded selfie camera and a 50 MP main rear camera - which may be unchanged from that of its predecessor. Today the same source is back with details about the S25 FE's telephoto camera, and it's not good news. This will be the same 8 MP unit with 3x optical zoom that the S24 FE has. Samsung Galaxy S24 FE 8 MP cameras on the rears of devices costing this much shouldn't be a thing in 2025, but alas, Samsung thinks different. Then again, at least the S25 FE will actually have a dedicated telephoto - the S25 Edge doesn't, as you may know. The S25 FE will also have a 12 MP ultrawide, which again sounds identical to the S24 FE's, so it's probably safe to assume that the only change this year in terms of cameras will happen on the front of the device. The S25 FE is also getting a minutely upgraded chipset, as it turns out, as the 'full' Exynos 2400 will replace the Exynos 2400e used in the S24 FE. All in all, the S25 FE is looking like a very, very minor update to the line, at least from what's been leaked so far. Maybe it will surprise us with some other spec, it remains to be seen. The gadget might be released in late September or early October, according to the reports. But as of right now, the precise debut date is still unknown. Samsung Galaxy S25 FE expected specification The Galaxy S25 FE may have a 12MP selfie camera, which would be a minor improvement above the 10MP front sensors seen in the Galaxy S24 FE and S23 FE, according to a claim from GalaxyClub. Remarkably, the normal Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra are rumoured to have the same front camera. Even though it's still uncertain if the performance will match that of the flagship models, it still suggests a noticeable improvement. The 50MP primary sensor, which is also utilized in the Galaxy S23 FE and S24 FE, is anticipated to remain in the back camera configuration. Samsung has not yet confirmed the remaining features of the rear camera, but if the company follows last year's pattern, we might see a 12MP ultra-wide sensor and an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The Galaxy S25 FE is anticipated to have the same svelte Fan Edition design, which includes narrow bezels, a punch-hole display, and a high-end yet understated build, even though the exact specifications have not been disclosed. Samsung may use the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset or the Exynos 2400e to power the phone's internal components. Although the Exynos chip is probably the best choice, in the event of production delays, the Dimensity processor might be employed. Samsung Galaxy S25 FE May Finally Fix Its Selfie Camera Problem with 12MP Upgrade

Samsung's Fan Edition (FE) smartphones have long struggled to deliver strong selfie camera performance, but that may soon change. According to fresh leaks, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 FE is expected to feature a 12-megapixel front camera, a small yet meaningful upgrade from previous models. So far, Samsung has rolled out four devices in the Galaxy S25 series: the Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge. However, based on the company's established release patterns, an FE version is likely in the pipeline—and reports suggest that development is already underway, with a launch expected later this year. The camera upgrade might not sound dramatic at first—just a bump from a 10MP to a 12MP sensor—but the impact will depend largely on the sensor's quality. While technical details remain unclear, this could mean sharper selfies and better detail capture, especially under good lighting. 'Upgrading the front-facing camera from a 10-megapixel sensor to a 12-megapixel one might not sound particularly groundbreaking, but it could prove more meaningful depending on the specific sensor Samsung opts to use,' notes the report. That said, it's unlikely to be a game-changing leap. With just a two-year gap between models, the improvement may be subtle rather than revolutionary, unless Samsung has replaced a particularly outdated sensor. Still, for users who rely on their front camera for video calls, selfies, or vlogs, even a small upgrade is a welcome change. On the other hand, rear camera upgrades seem off the table. A leak from Galaxy Club, shared via SamMobile, indicates that the main rear sensor will remain 50MP—just like the Galaxy S24 FE. It's unclear if it's the exact same sensor, but users can expect similar photo quality on the rear camera. In terms of performance, a more surprising twist comes from the chipset department. While the previous Galaxy S24 FE used the Exynos 2400e, recent leaks suggest that the Galaxy S25 FE might ditch Exynos in favour of MediaTek's Dimensity 9400 chip. This change marks a notable shift in Samsung's approach to its FE line, and could potentially deliver better efficiency and performance at a more affordable price point. Interestingly, the same MediaTek chip has also been linked to another yet-unannounced Samsung phone—the Galaxy Z Flip FE—fueling further speculation about the company's chipset strategy going forward.
