This Samsung Galaxy Watch may not get the latest One UI 8 Watch update
Samsung may soon end the software updates for its popular Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 series. As reported by 9to5Google, Samsung has signalled that the 2021 launched Galaxy Watch 4 may soon stop receiving major software updates, as the company prepares to roll out One UI 8 Watch, based on Wear OS 6 , exclusively for newer models. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Launched in 2021, the Galaxy Watch 4 series was Samsung's first to run on Wear OS, marking a shift away from its Tizen-based wearables. While Samsung had previously committed to 'at least' three years of updates for its smartwatches, the Watch 4's last major update arrived in May 2025, and the company's latest move suggests that the device may not receive further feature upgrades. Although Samsung has not officially confirmed the end of support, the exclusion from the beta program and the approaching three-year support window strongly indicate that the Watch 4 is nearing the end of its update cycle. Security patches may still continue for a limited time, but if Samsung follows the precedent set with the Galaxy Watch 3, which stopped receiving updates in late 2023, the Watch 4 series could soon be phased out entirely. For comparison, the Galaxy Watch 3, released in 2020, received its last major update in late 2023, aligning with the three-year support window. The Galaxy Watch 4 last received an update in May 2025, which included security patches but no new features.

This must-have AMOLED Samsung watch has had a tempting price drop on Amazon
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Trying to find a cheap smartwatch that doesn't compromise on features, is easy to use, and also stylish, can be a challenge. However, Amazon has heard our prayers, slashing the price of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 to less than $150—now that's a bargain! Guaranteed, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 isn't the newest timepiece on the block, however, that doesn't take away from its beautiful design, reliable performance and decent-ish battery life. After all, we didn't give it four stars in our review for nothing! The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is a sleek, stylish companion with a 1.2-inch AMOLED display, and a bunch of useful health tracking features to help you live your best life, including ECG tracking, a body composition tool and over 90 exercise Deal So, what does this little beauty offer? First up, improved sleep tracking and plenty of health metrics. These include heart rate and blood pressure monitoring, tracking your steps, body composition insights, and more. For fitness enthusiasts, it can also track more than 90 exercises and has built-in GPS, as well as an IP68 water resistance rating, withstanding depths up to 50 meters. Then there's all the normal smart features you'd expect from your regular smartwatch, like receiving calls, texts, and Samsung Pay. Battery life, sadly, isn't this watch's strong suit. While it does offer more than its predecessor, we're only talking 40 hours. But, there is a 10 minute charge option which can give you a 10 hour battery boost, which isn't bad. All in all, it's not a bad package for the price, especially if you're looking for something that'll look good on the wrist.
