Samsung Electronics Levant Empowers Youth with an Intensive Course on AI and Machine Learning
Samsung Electronics Levant has successfully completed a course on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts to cultivate key human resources under its e-learning program, Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC). A total of 41 students from Jordan and Iraq were certified for their achievements throughout the 9-week course. The course was led by world-class data science expert, Mrad Sleiman, supported by three facilitators. The 265-hour course focused on both the theory and practice of AI—both machine and deep learning. The course consisted of three main components: Interactive live session every week, covering various topics and providing direct mentorship; asynchronous learning, where students had access to the content at all times, so they can learn at their own time; and 24/7 support from formal program Slack channels and via email. Over 1,000 applications were received, with only the top 60 students getting selected to participate. This free course covered the essential knowledge and tools to upskill participants between the ages of 18 and 29 with core competencies necessary to shape the future of technology. Throughout the course, students gained practical experience on the process of design, implementation, and results communication; learned AI modeling based on mathematics; and grasped the landscape of data science tools and their applications. Samsung Innovation Campus is an ICT education initiative offered globally by Samsung Electronics under its CSR strategy. SIC aims to empower the youth and upskill them to lead the next generation of leaders in tech and help shape the future. This is done by providing core tech competencies such as AI, Internet of Things (IoT), coding and programming, in addition to a range of soft skills to enhance their employment prospects.

Samsung, Ministry Renew Partnership to Boost Digital Education in Morocco
Rabat – The Moroccan Ministry of Education and Samsung Electronics Maghreb Arab have signed an amendment to their partnership agreement to pave the way for more collaboration to enhance digital education in Morocco. The renewed commitment will extend the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) program and aim to promote Artificial Intelligence (AI), said the electronics company in a press release. The signing ceremony took place at the national training and meeting center in Rabat. It was attended by Morocco's Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports Mohamed Saad Berrada, and Hee Young Hong, President of Samsung Electronics Maghreb Arab. The event also saw the distribution of prizes to the winning teams of the first edition of a national Python programming competition, which is part of the Samsung Innovation Campus project. The project provides all qualifying computer science teachers with certified training in Python programming. The trained teachers provided Python programming learning sessions to common-core students.
