Congress claims victory in Jubilee Hills bypoll: 10 aspirants eye party ticket; Mahesh Goud criticises BJP

HYDERABAD: Telangana Congress president B Mahesh Kumar Goud on Tuesday said surveys conducted indicated a clear victory for the grand old party in the by-election to the Jubilee Hills assembly constituency. He mentioned that 10 candidates with winning prospects are vying for the party ticket due to positive results from the survey. "Though Operation Akarsh has not been abandoned, why would we even think of taking candidates from other parties? Right now, there are 10 capable candidates from our party in the race for the by-poll ticket. Congress is ready for a by-election to any constituency in the state as the people of Telangana are happy with the numerous welfare schemes being implemented by the Congress govt," he told the media.
