San Francisco officer injured while chasing wanted person in Tenderloin
A San Francisco officer was injured while chasing a wanted person Tuesday afternoon in the Tenderloin, police said. Around 12:30 p.m., officers assigned to the Tenderloin Station saw a wanted subject on the 400 block of Eddy Street. Police said they tried to detain the subject, but the person ran from officers. The officers chased after the person, and police said that during the foot pursuit, one of the officers was injured. San Francisco Police did not say how the officer was injured, but that the injury was not life-threatening. The person was later taken into custody, and the officer was taken to the hospital.

San Francisco Police arrest suspect in hit-and-run that injured 5-year-old child
San Francisco Police on Monday said they arrested a suspect in a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a child on May 24. The suspect was arrested on Sunday in Daly City. Police identified the suspect as 35-year-old Jonathan Tyler Lam. On May 24, a woman was walking with her 5-year-old, who was on a push bike, in the area of 31st Avenue and Clement Street. Police said that around 6:20 p.m., they were struck by a driver who then left the scene. The child was taken to the hospital, and on Monday, police said the child's injuries were life-threatening. Police said Lam was booked into the San Francisco County Jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run.

Man who allegedly sold fentanyl to undercover police in San Francisco's Tenderloin District charged with multiple felonies
The San Francisco District Attorney's Office has charged 23-year-old Eduen "Blaze" Martinez-Barela with 17 felonies for allegedly selling drugs in San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood. Martinez-Barela was arraigned on May 21. He pleaded not guilty to all of the charges. According to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office he was arrested on May 15 for allegedly selling fentanyl to an undercover police officer, something court documents say he did three other times. During his arrest San Francisco Police said they found almost 50 grams of suspected fentanyl, more than 30 grams of methamphetamine, over 18 grams of cocaine, and $108 dollars. The District Attorney's Office said this wasn't Martinez-Barela's only encounter with law enforcement. In their press statement they said he was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on March 31. According to the CHP during a traffic stop their drug sniffing dog detected drugs in the seam of the right rear door. A search found 280 grams of suspected fentanyl, 103 grams of methamphetamine, and 31 grams of cocaine judge had released him pre-arraignment. He is currently in custody on $170,000 bail.

DA charges former San Francisco officer in connection with alleged DUI crash
A now-former San Francisco officer was charged in connection with an alleged drunk driving crash that injured several people, the San Francisco District Attorney's Office said on Tuesday. The DA's office said 28-year-old Ryan Kwong, who recently graduated from the San Francisco Police Academy, will be arraigned on Wednesday on the following charges. Four counts of driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury Four counts of driving under the influence of alcohol with a .08% BAC causing injury Three counts of reckless driving causing injury Kwong is also accused of driving at an excessive speed recklessly, having a BAC greater than .15%, and of personally inflicting great bodily injury on the victims. The charges are in connection with a crash that happened early Saturday morning. Police were called to the area of Sunset Boulevard and Rivera Street just before 2 a.m. for reports of a crash involving two vehicles. When they arrived, they found one vehicle with three people inside who were all injured. One of them had life-threatening injuries and the others had injuries that were not life-threatening. The vehicle Kwong was allegedly driving had one passenger, Kwong and the passenger had injuries that were not life-threatening. Police investigating the crash suspected that Kwong was under the influence and arrested him on suspicion of DUI. Kwong was a recent police academy graduate and had just started his field training. He was off duty at the time of the crash. On Tuesday, San Francisco Police confirmed Kwong was no longer employed with the department. His arraignment is on Wednesday.

SFPD investigating double shooting that killed 1
SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco Police Department is investigating a double shooting in the Ingleside neighborhood that killed one man and injured another on Monday. Officers responded to the 1900 block of Sunnydale Avenue around 3 a.m. over reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found two men with gunshot wounds, police said. One of the men died at the scene while the other was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. What we don't know It's unclear what the circumstances were that led up to the shooting. No one has been arrested for the double shooting. Police did not identify the victims.
