Reflecting on her battle with the disease, Sana continued, 'This didn't happen overnight; I've been managing it for a while. Recently, it flared up badly, which has made me pause my work commitments." It was in March this year that Sana Makbul opened up about her health condition during a conversation with comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa on their podcast show. 'A lot of people do not know that I am an autoimmune hepatitis patient. Autoimmune is a condition and I have a liver disease. It was diagnosed in 2020," she said. Sana also admitted that the condition forced her to adopt a vegan diet. 'I have turned vegan recently due to health reasons. It (the disease) has no specific symptoms. In this, my body cells are attacking the organ. So in my case, it's sometimes lupus; it hits your kidneys or causes arthritis. Samantha Ruth Prabhu has myositis, which is a muscle condition. Sana revealed that the aircraft had to make an emergency landing in Ahmedabad as a precautionary measure. Luckily, she had no check-in luggage, which allowed her to take another flight from Ahmedabad and reach Mumbai safely. However, several other passengers remained stranded at the Ahmedabad airport. Taking to social media, Sana expressed her gratitude towards the IndiGo staff for their prompt assistance in arranging her onward journey. She also appreciated the pilot of the Jodhpur-Mumbai flight for his quick and timely decision that ensured the safety of all passengers on board. 'By God's grace, everything went smoothly. I was able to catch another flight to Mumbai, and I'm thankful to the IndiGo team and the pilot for handling the situation so well," she wrote. She also added, 'I don't know what is happening with the world and I don't know what is happening with all the aircrafts, but we need a solution for this." Meanwhile, the cases of emergency landings and flights being diverted have seen a significant increase after the horrifying Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad that claimed 241 lives and left the nation in a state of shock. But I'm holding on to hope. I just want to get better without needing something so big as a liver transplant. It's not going to be easy, but I am not ready to give up so easily. Some days I cry, some days I laugh, but every day, I try. As they say, healing is a journey, and I'm learning as I go." She also said, 'I'll come out of this stronger, and that I am pretty sure of, as I am a fighter."
