Remember Karisma Kapoor's sister in Coolie No 1? Worked with Govinda, Salman Khan, suddenly disappeared after few films, is now..., her name is... 90s Actress Kanchan became a prominent name in Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam industries. She rose to fame after appearing alongside Karsima Kapoor and Govinda in Coolie No 1 . Released in 1995, the film became a major box office success and turned a cult classic in Hindi cinema's history. Kanchan played Karisma's younger sister in the film, and is still remembered for her outstanding performance in romantic comedy drama. She won hearts with her on-screen persona, and later collaborated with other stars such as Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan. Despite this, she failed to sustain longer in Bollywood. Why Kanchan failed to grab success in Bollywood? Kanchan was a well-know name in the industry, and also starred in hit films like Sanam Bewafa, Kranti Kshetra, Jumana and Paandav . She starred as a lead actress opposite Akshay Kumar in Amaanat , but the film failed to become a success, and couldn't save her career. Her innocence won audiences hearts, but gradually she lost her charm in the industry. According to reports, the superstardom of other actresses like Karisma Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Sridevi overshadowed her work, and she was unable to get more films in the industry. Where is Kanchan now? In the 90s, film producers and directors were majorly in search of bold actresses, instead of sweet and simple. Due to this, Kanchan's career destroyed, and she gradually faded from the limelight. She even tried her hands in the South cinema after not getting work in Bollywood. Kanchan worked in a Malayalam film Gandharvam, opposite superstar Mohanlal. The film became a huge hit at the box office. She also starred in Ajith Kumar's debut film Pustakam. Thereafter, Kanchan was seen in many popular South films, but still that couldn't help her survive. She slowly moved away from that industry as well, despite achieving considerable success. Today, no one knows about her whereabouts. Kanchan's career is a sobering example that how actors get easily replaced, despite their best efforts to sustain longer in the industry.
