Political class praises Indian military's action against Pak's 'napak' deeds
As the Indian Armed Forces pounded Pakistani posts and also shot down its fighter jets, retaliating to its act of aggression on Thursday night, the political class has welcomed the military's action, whole-heartedly. 'We are proud of our armed forces. Pakistan will be made to pay for its ugly war tactics,' is the common message from leaders across the political spectrum. From the Congress to Samajwadi Party to Shiv Sena, all Opposition parties justified the Indian military's action and said that it is Pakistan which must de-escalate the tension. Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit, speaking to IANS said, "Pakistan has provoked us repeatedly, but our response is always balanced and controlled. We only respond to what they say, as they say, 'Nehle pe Dehla.' But the fact is, we are giving them 'Dehla on Dehla,' because if we consider our military strength, our economic power, the construction of our nation, and our unity, we are thousands of times stronger than them. But we are not escalating it thousands of times, we are only responding proportionately." He also said, 'Pakistan was being stubborn, even after taking so many blows, but I think this is their last attempt.' Samajwadi Party MP, Awadhesh Prasad said, "Within 48 hours, Pakistan's security forces will have no capability left to retaliate. Our brave Indian Army, with its glorious history, deserves all our respect and salute. We proudly honour our soldiers for their courage. The terrorist bases where terrorism originated will be completely uprooted by our forces. This will mark the end of terrorism and terror attacks once and for all." He also appealed to the public to support and boost the morale of the armed forces. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader, Sanjay Raut said, "In a war situation, the government should receive support. The Indian military should receive full support. Because in the battlefield, it's not us or the Prime Minister, it's our Army, Air Force and Navy..." RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari said, "All 1.4 billion Indians take immense pride in the extraordinary bravery and valour of India's armed forces. If anyone looks at India with evil intentions or harms its innocent people, they will not be spared and will receive a strong response.' 'The world has seen India's military power and strength, and terrorism will not be tolerated,' he added.

Pakistan Army lacks will, led by those unfit to lead: Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit
New Delhi [India], May 8 (ANI): Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit on Thursday addressed the ongoing situation following Operation Sindoor and the recent cross-border shelling by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC). Sandeep Dikshit lauded the Indian Army for successfully carrying out the planned strike on Pakistan, stating that the operation hit the right targets. 'Asad Masood, who is the head of the terror operation, himself came out and admitted it. That confirms we struck the right places -- those were indeed terror hubs. Pakistan will likely resort to rhetoric, but lacks the capacity or political will to respond meaningfully. They do not have the strength or the resolve to take any substantial action,' he added, referring to the country's limited options following the Indian Army's successful strike, ' Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit said. 'At the rate things are going, Pakistan is on the path to disintegration. Even a superpower like Russia did not break into as many pieces as Pakistan is heading towards. The Pakistan Army lacks the will and professionalism to respond effectively, it is increasingly being run by individuals who neither have the heart nor the understanding to lead responsibly,' he added, criticising the state of the military establishment in the neighbouring country, ' he added. Meanwhile, the Indian Army confirmed the success of Operation Sindoor, a targeted strike on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The operation aimed to neutralize terror threats following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also reaffirmed India's commitment to national security, condemning Pakistan's unprovoked ceasefire violations. In response, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the Indian strikes, escalating tensions between the two countries. The strikes were aimed at avenging the Pahalgam attack victims and eliminating key Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) leaders and camps involved in planning attacks on Indian soil. AAP in turmoil, losing members to BJP: Sandeep Dikshit
New Delhi: Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit on Monday criticised the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over its reported decision not to contest the upcoming Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD) Mayor elections, saying the party is in turmoil and losing ground to the BJP. Speaking to IANS, Dikshit said the move reflects internal instability and a weakening grip of the party, especially as several of its members and supporters have recently switched allegiance to the BJP. 'It's possible that their councillors or supporters may have left. There's some turmoil within the Aam Aadmi Party, with members shifting to the BJP. That's something they need to handle,' Dikshit said, responding to AAP's withdrawal from the mayoral contest. He added, 'Personally, I consider it unfortunate. No matter which party it is, when someone gets elected under a party's symbol and then leaves for another party, I find that unethical and wrong.' Addressing a press conference, former Delhi Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Atishi, said, 'The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will play the role of a strong Opposition in the MCD as well. BJP did a lot of rigging during the MCD elections but still it lost badly. Even after this, it did not stop and all the councillors were poached.' She said her party does not believe in the 'politics of sabotage and horse-trading' and has, therefore, decided not to participate in the mayoral contest. Sandeep Dikshit also weighed in on other issues, including Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi's, recent comments made during his US tour, in which he questioned the functioning of the Election Commission, citing discrepancies in vote counts in Maharashtra. 'This is a common topic of discussion these days. What exactly is the Election Commission doing? Suddenly, after one election, there's a massive surge in votes, figures that were never there before and all those additional votes end up going to the BJP,' Dikshit said. 'It's not just Rahul Gandhi or any one individual raising these concerns, these questions are being raised by the facts themselves,' he said. While addressing the Indian diaspora in Boston, LoP Gandhi alleged that the Election Commission in India was 'compromised'.
