The list features organizations that 'go above and beyond to create exceptional workplace cultures' and are selected through a combination of independent editorial research and nominations, the release said. Infirmary Health was recognized for its commitment to employee well-being, leadership excellence, and community engagement, according to the release. That attitude has garnered the health system the honor of 'Best places to work and the top healthcare system employer in the state of Alabama' for three consecutive years in Forbes' 'America's Best-in-State Employers' annual list. MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Samantha Ingram has announced she is running for the Mobile City Council District 2 seat. What fans are saying on day 1 of Morgan Wallen's 'Sand in My Boots' music festival The Mobile native has served at the local and national levels in education, and said she is ready to bring that experience to the council, according to a news release. 'For the past 30 years, I have poured my heart into public education, working tirelessly to improve our schools in this city and across the United States,' she said. 'I have managed multi-million-dollar budgets, supported and empowered leaders and focused on building better communities.' Ingram has served as the deputy superintendent for Mobile County Public Schools and as chief of the Center for Instructional Leadership and Development with the United States Department of Defense, according to the release. Ingram said she wants to help everyone in Mobile, not just those in District 2. 'I am running for City Council to ensure that every resident, no matter their zip code, has access to affordable housing, youth opportunities, safe and healthy neighborhoods, and inclusive economic and community development,' she said. 'I am committed to bringing real solutions and responsive leadership to the district.' She said she believes that it is possible by working together. Hurlburt Advanced C2 Training Squadron welcomes new commander

HURLBURT, Fla. (WKRG) — The 705th Training Squadron has welcomed a new commander to the team during a formal change of command ceremony. Two Lillian women killed in multi-vehicle crash in Elberta Lt. Col. Matthew 'Blanks' Nelson succeeded Lt. Col. Benjamin 'Dragon' Lee in leading the U.S. Air Force's only advanced command and control training unit, a U.S. Air Force Hurlburt Field news release said. The ceremony was held at Hurlburt Field May 13, and was led by Col. James Fields II, 505th Test and Training Group commander, who spoke of the squadron's expertise and the role they play in shaping the future of operational command and control for the U.S. Air Force, the release said. 'This unit is trusted with solving the toughest operational C2 (command and control) problems and shaping the Air Force's approach to joint and combined warfare,' Fields said. 'Lt. Col. Lee took that responsibility and drove the squadron to new heights.' In his parting speech, Lee commented on the squadron's accomplishments and the significance of leadership. 'The success of the 705th TRS (Training Squadron) has been built on the hard work and dedication of every individual here. I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together, and I know that with Lt. Col. Nelson at the helm, the squadron will continue to evolve and lead the way in C2 excellence,' he said. Foley traffic signal at Alabama Highway 59 and Baldwin 12 to be off Wednesday

FOLEY, Ala. (WKRG) — The traffic lights at Alabama Highway 59 and Baldwin County 12 will be shut down this week for improvements. Two Lillian women killed in multi-vehicle crash in Elberta According to a City of Foley news release, the signals will be shut down at 9 a.m. while a temporary signal is put in. Foley police will direct traffic while the light is down. Crews will connect power to new connections and remove current signal poles that will have to be moved because of new turn lanes that are planned for that intersection, the release said. The work should be done by 4 p.m., the release said. According to the release, Alabama Department of Transportation officials have said the work was scheduled in such a way that the signal outage would be before most schools were out for summer and beach traffic increases. The eastbound section of Baldwin County 12 has been closed as the work has been done, but is expected to be reopened by the end of May, according to ALDOT. In addition to the new turn lane and signal improvements, the project also includes culvert extensions, the release said.
