Eurovision Song Contest fans all have same complaint about final

The 2025 Eurovision Song Contest grand final was criticised for its premature voting system this weekend. Unfolding in the Swiss city of Basel - thanks to last year's native champion Nemo who won the 68th contest with their song 'The Code' - BBC One aired its four-hour coverage on Saturday, May 17 with Graham Norton in the commentator's chair as usual. Before any of the 26 finalists had a chance to sing their nation's competing tune though, presenters Hazel Brugger, Sandra Studer, and Michelle Hunziker opened the public vote, which in the mind of many viewers represented a diminished fairness. Surely the latter performers had a disadvantage? Eurovision 2025's pre-performance voting was torn apart by fans on social media site X, with one user pointing out: "Voting is open! We haven't heard the songs, though?" "Why launch the voting before we've heard the songs?" asked another. Read more: When is Eurovision 2025 and who is singing for the UK? Eurovision's biggest moments in last round before grand final The most memorable Eurovision performances ever "So you can vote before you've even heard the songs? "Voting being open throughout the show is nothing short of pathetic. #Eurovision Worried about how this will affect Albania too," read a fourth complaint. Michelle Hunziker looks incredible in a glitzy silver gown as she co-hosts 2025 Eurovision final alongside Sandra Studer and Hazel Brugger

Eurovision host Michelle Hunziker looked incredible in a glitzy silver gown as she graced the stage alongside Sandra Studer and Hazel Brugger on Saturday. The 48-year-old model made a jaw-dropping entrance in Basel as she joined her co-hosts to present this year's grand finale. Michelle was born in Switzerland and acquired Italian citizenship when she tied the knot with Eros Ramazzotti, 61. She showcased her incredibly muscular frame in the strapless gown, while Sandra and Hazel slipped into stylish suits. Hazel, 31, wore a quirky suit jacket and matching trousers teamed with vibrant trainers. Meanwhile, Sandra, 56, looked radiant and glowing in a shimmering pink dress before changing into a LBD to perform a rendition of her 1991 Eurovision performance. Swiss and Italian TV presenter Michelle shot to fame in the 90s and over the years has played herself and taken on characters in various productions. She's starred in a number of films, including The Protagonists, Alex l'ariete, Madagascar, Natale a Rio and Amore nero. Some TV programmes include I misteri di Cascina Vianello, La forza dell'amore, Love Bugs and Idol x Warrior Miracle Tunes. She's also presented and been a contestant in Buona Domenica, Superstar, Telegatto, All Together Now and Striscia la notizia. Over the years she's been married a number of times. Her first marriage was to Italian pop star Eros. The pair were married between 1998 and 2002. The two share one daughter called Aurora, 28. During the time that they were together she joined a sect called Warriors of Light, which saw members follow a vegan diet and not drink, smoke, have sex or masturbate. Michelle, who was 20 at the time of joining, was a member for five years after meeting a therapist called Clelia. Meanwhile, Sandra, 56, looked radiant and glowing in a shimmering pink dress before changing into a LBD to perform a rendition of her 1991 Eurovision performance They grew close after she helped Eros feel better after having a sore throat. The star opened up about it all in her 2018 autobiography A Seemingly Perfect Life. Michelle wrote: 'Before the meetings we had to shower and put on white clothes. 'We always had to take off our shoes on the threshold. Then we had to wash our hands again and sit in circles on the sofas or cross-legged on the floor before starting the sessions of lying down or meditating.' Michelle grew close with the therapist and said: 'According to Clelia, sexuality was an animalistic instinct and therefore dirty and low. 'We had to lift that instinct to a higher level, sublimate it, and turn it into inner energy.' She left Warriors of Light when she was 25. MailOnline reported back in 2018 that she had blamed their divorce on the cult and they tried to convince her that he was a bad influence. The Swiss and Italian TV presenter shot to fame in the 90s and over the years has played herself and taken on characters in various productions (pictured rehearsing for Eurovision) Michelle later married Tomaso Trussardi, 42, in 2014. The former couple divorced in 2022. Their marriage produced tow daughters Sole, 12, and Celeste, 10. Michelle took to her Instagram to update 5.8m fans with what she's up to ahead of Eurovision. Sharing a selfie of herself pouting, she wrote: 'First day in Basel.' A video of herself at the Eurovision headquarters was posted in the next story. The UK will see Inside Remember Monday, which is made up of Holly-Anne Hull, Charlotte Steele and Lauren Byrne, battle it out for the top spot in the singing competition. The last time the UK won the competition was when Since Katrina & The Waves won in 1997. The girl group from Farnborough, Hampshire, have entered their song What The Hell Just Happened? for this year's competition. Speaking ahead of their big performance, they said: 'Today is the first time we've felt a little bit anxious because it's real now.' Meanwhile Doctor Who actor Ncuti Gatwa has had to pull out of the 2025 Eurovision final due to 'unforeseen circumstances'. The actor was due to be the UK's spokesperson, but Sophie Ellis-Bextor will now take his place.
