An article on Tuesday about Quebec City's small English-speaking community misspelled the name of a photographer and filmmaker. She is Sandra Tomaylla, not Sandra Tomayla.
An article on Aug. 3 about corporations and individuals, including many in the crypto business, that wrote big checks to MAGA Inc. while seeking favor from President Trump misstated the total amount of money that MAGA Inc. received from crypto interests during the first half of this year, as well as the combined amount donated by Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss and their crypto exchange, Gemini. The total amount that MAGA Inc. received from crypto interests was nearly $42 million, not nearly $45 million. The Winklevosses combined to donate more than $1 million, not nearly $4 million. Their crypto exchange, Gemini, processed donations to MAGA Inc. made by other donors; it did not donate its own funds.
An article on Friday about the ways that Republicans shaped the debate over Sydney Sweeney's American Eagle ad campaign misstated the date of one of Libs of TikTok's social media posts on the American Eagle ad. While attention did shift with earlier posts by the influential account on July 27, the 'Keep this up Democrats' comment cited in the article was published on July 28, not July 27.
