Bank of Baroda expands bob इ Pay with international UPI services
Bank of Baroda has announced an enhancement to its Unified Payments Interface (UPI) app, bob इ Pay, with the introduction of three key international features - UPI Global Acceptance, Foreign Inward Remittance and UPI Services for NRIs. 'The addition of a suite of global UPI functionalities in the bob इ Pay app will enable seamless, secure and real-time cross-border digital payments and remittances for Indian and NRI customers,' the bank said in a statement. Sanjay Mudaliar, Executive Director, Bank of Baroda said, 'UPI has revolutionised digital payments in India, and we are pleased to now extend its benefits to international use through bob इ Pay International.' 'These new features provide greater flexibility and convenience to our resident & NRI customers and reflects our commitment to develop user-centric and innovative digital banking solutions,' he added.

Bank of Baroda has upgraded its UPI app, bob इ Pay, introducing international services to enable easy cross-border digital payments for Indian and NRI customers. Under UPI Global Acceptance, customers can use the bob इ Pay app to pay international merchants via QR code from their Indian bank accounts. This service is available in eight countries: Mauritius, Singapore, UAE, USA, France, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bhutan. Transaction details show amounts in both local and Indian currency, along with exchange rates and fees. The Foreign Inward Remittance feature allows real-time 24x7 money transfers from Singapore residents to Bank of Baroda customers in India. Singapore senders can transfer funds by entering the recipient's UPI ID, sending money in Singapore Dollars which converts to Indian Rupees credited directly to the recipient's account. NRI customers can link their NRE or NRO accounts to bob इ Pay using a domestic mobile number during visits to India. They can then send and receive UPI payments both at merchant outlets and via peer-to-peer transfers. All international UPI transactions on the app have a daily and per transaction limit of Rs. 1,00,000, consistent with domestic UPI limits. bob इ Pay, a Bank of Baroda indigenous UPI app, has quickly gained 1.3 million registered users. The app is available on Play Store and App Store. Customers can activate the new services via the app's settings.

Bank of Baroda bank announced three international features to its Unified Payments Interface (UPI) app, bob इ Pay – UPI Global Acceptance, Foreign Inward Remittance and UPI Services for NRIs. UPI Global Acceptance Bank of Baroda customers travelling abroad can now conveniently use their bob इ Pay app to make QR Code-based payments to international merchants directly from their Indian bank account. This service is available in 8 countries that accept UPI – Mauritius, Singapore, UAE, USA, France, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bhutan. Bank of Baroda customers in India can now receive 24×7 real-time remittances from Singapore residents through bob इ Pay app for the purpose of family maintenance. Singapore residents can send money to a bob इ Pay user in India simply by entering the recipient's registered UPI ID/VPA. The sender will enter the amount in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and the beneficiary will receive the funds in Indian Rupees (INR) directly into their UPI-linked bank account. Using the bob इ Pay app, Bank of Baroda's NRI customers can now send and receive money through UPI. During visits to India, NRI customers can link their NRE/NRO accounts to the bob इ Pay app using a domestic mobile number and make seamless UPI payments at merchant outlets as well as peer-to-peer fund transfers. For all the above international UPI services, the per day and per transaction limit is Rs. 1,00,000/- (same as the Domestic UPI transaction limit). bob इ Pay app, an indigenous UPI application of Bank of Baroda, is available for both customers and non-customers. Bank of Baroda announces major enhancement to UPI app bob e-Pay, introduces three international features
State-owned Bank of Baroda, on Monday, 11 August 2025, announced its new Unified Payments Interface (UPI) application, the 'bob इ Pay' or the 'bob e-Pay' app, to provide seamless, secure, and real-time cross-border digital payments to its users, according to a press release. Bank of Baroda aims to help users carry out international transactions through three key features: UPI Global Acceptance, Foreign Inward Remittance, and UPI Services for Non-Resident India (NRIs) and Indians travelling abroad. 'UPI has revolutionised digital payments in India, and we are pleased to now extend its benefits to international use through bob इ Pay International. These new features provide greater flexibility and convenience to our resident & NRI customers and reflects our commitment to develop user-centric and innovative digital banking solutions,' said Sanjay Mudaliar, the executive director of Bank of Baroda. 1. UPI Global Acceptance: Customers using the bob e-pay application will now be able to use it to make QR Code-based payments to international merchants deducted directly from their Indian bank accounts. As of 11 August 2025, Mauritius, Singapore, UAE, USA, France, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bhutan are the only countries that accept UPI as a form of payment. The transaction amount will be visible in both the international currency and the Indian currency, along with the current exchange rate and applicable fees for the same, in order to give the users clarity and transparency during their international UPI transactions. 2. Foreign Inward Remittances from Singapore Residents: The users of this application will be able to receive 24/7 real-time foreign remittances from Singapore residents for family maintenance, according to the official announcement. The sender will enter the amount in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and the beneficiary will receive the funds in Indian Rupees (INR) directly into their UPI-linked bank accounts. 3. NRI UPI Services: Bank of Baroda's NRI customers will now be able to send and receive funds through UPI using this application. During their India visits, NRI customers can link their NRE/NRO accounts to the bob e-pay app using an Indian mobile number and make seamless UPI payments at merchant outlets as well as peer-to-peer fund transfers. The transaction limit for all the above international UPI services is ₹ 1,00,000 per day, the same as the Domestic UPI transaction limit. The bob e-pay application can be downloaded from the Play Store or App Store for Android and iOS users.
