NEET UG 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has launched a platform to report suspicious activities related to the upcoming NEET UG 2025 exam. The move comes as part of the agency's efforts to combat unfair practices such as unauthorized access to exam papers, impersonation, and misleading claims made by fraudulent individuals and websites. This initiative is in line with the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, aimed at safeguarding the examination process and protecting the interests of genuine candidates. NEET 2024 paper leak: Arrest of mastermind In a related development, the mastermind behind the NEET UG 2024 paper leak , Sanjeev Mukhia, has been arrested by the Economic Offence Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) also participated in the questioning of the accused. The EOU had previously announced cash rewards for individuals providing information about those involved in the NEET paper leak and other similar cases. EOU gets 36-hr remand of NEET Paper leak accused
1 2 3 Patna: A local court on Saturday granted a 36-hour remand of Sanjeev Mukhia , the alleged mastermind behind the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET)-UG paper leak case, to the Economic Offences Unit (EOU). The remand was approved in connection with the Bihar Police constable recruitment examination paper leak of 2023, which is currently under investigation by the EOU. Confirming the development, additional director general (ADG) of the EOU, Nayyar Hasnain Khan, said, "The agency is now working to uncover more details about the exam paper leaks and Mukhia's accomplices. The EOU requested to take Mukhia into custody for five days, but the court, after hearing the case, approved a 36-hour remand." On Friday, the CBI interrogated Mukhia for around three hours. He is accused of leaking papers for several examinations, including the 2023 constable recruitment, 2023 BPSC teacher recruitment and the 2024 NEET UG. According to official sources, Mukhia had been living with his girlfriend in Danapur while evading arrest. He remained on the run for 18 months, initially hiding in Nepal before returning to Patna to form a new network. Others arrested include Mukhiya's son Shiv Kumar, his relative Pradeep and a suspended accountant from the rural works department, Vishal. Mukhia and his brother Rajeev Sinha were first jailed in 2012 for allegedly using Bluetooth devices to cheat in the Bihar Mahadalit Vikas Mission recruitment examination.

NEET-UG paper leak mastermind held
Representative image PATNA: Bihar Police 's special task force, in a joint operation with the economic offences unit (EOU), arrested Sanjeev Mukhia, the alleged mastermind behind the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak, from an apartment in Danapur in Patna late Thursday. Mukhia had been absconding since the medical entrance exam was held in May last year. The police headquarters had announced a reward of Rs 3 lakh for any information leading to his capture. Investigators found Mukhia's network active in Rajasthan, Bihar, UP, Haryana, and Punjab, linked to leaks in recruitment exams for veterinary doctors, English teachers, and others.
