Trinity Health Foundation awards scholarships to 26 students

Thanks to the generosity of Cardiovascular Medicine, PLLC (CVM) and the endowed fund established by CVM physicians at the Trinity Health Foundation, scholarships were awarded to area students pursuing undergraduate degrees in math, science or medical sciences, according to a news release. This year, 26 students were awarded scholarships totaling $55,000. Since 2008, the fund has provided more than $500,000 in scholarships to area students. CVM cardiologists endow more than $1 million toward a scholarship fund that has awarded more than $500,000 in scholarships to local students. 'We are honored to have the opportunity to award these wonderful students with a scholarshipand advance the future of medicine and science,' says Sanjeev Puri, MD, president ofCardiovascular Medicine, PLLC. 'These scholarships will go a long way in providing ourstudents with the tools to become successful physicians, engineers and scientists.' 'We are deeply grateful to the physicians of Cardiovascular Medicine for their ongoinginvestment in our community's youth,' says Mary Macumber Schmidt, president of Trinity HealthFoundation. 'Their generosity not only eases the financial burden of education but also inspiresa new generation to pursue careers in science, medicine and technology.' The CVM Youth Mentoring Scholarship was created by cardiologists at Cardiovascular Medicine, PLLC, to support and advance quality cardiac patient care through education and research and to promote and encourage excellence in math and sciences. With highest CTC of Rs 24.73 lakh per annum, 325 students get recruited at Panjab University's UIET

With the highest cost-to-company (CTC) reaching Rs 24.73 lakh per annum, as many as 325 students secured job offers this academic year (2024-2025 or FY25), in the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Panjab University (PU). The average CTC stood at an impressive Rs 8.5 lakh per annum, highlighting the institute's growing reputation among top recruiters across IT, consultancy, and core engineering sectors. The UIET is considered a premier engineering institute in north India, offering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. This year, as many as 325 students have been placed, with a placement percentage of 78.4. The highest CTC is Rs 24.73, the average Rs 8.5 LPA, with the top sectors being information technology, consultancy, and core engineering, attracting more than 100 recruiters as part of the placements. 'UIET has grown rapidly in the 23 years since its inception, and this year's placement result highlights its rising strength. Strong industry linkages with Infosys, IBM, and the Bharti Group, along with the support of a vibrant alumni network, have played a key role. I am very pleased to see UIET emerging as a leading hub for engineering talent in the country,' Renu Vig, vice-chancellor, PU, said. Sanjeev Puri, director, UIET, said that the stellar placements are a testament to UIET's continuous efforts to bridge the gap between academia and industry. 'We emphasise technical depth, soft skills, and interdisciplinary learning.' Sarbjeet Singh, training and placement officer, UIET, explained that the industry collaborations and career-oriented programmes empower students to meet the evolving demands of the corporate world. Anuj Kumar, who got a placement at Cisco, said the placement team's support helped him get his dream job, while Khushi Jain, who Walmart selected, says UIET gave her the confidence and skills to thrive in a global tech environment. Students like Jasjeet Singh and Riya Handa credit industry exposure, rigorous training sessions and real-world projects at UIET that gave them an edge during the recruitment process.
