An award-winning photojournalist was tragically killed after his motorbike was involved in a collision with a tractor yesterday. Michael O'Neill was a hugely popular and highly respected press photographer who previously won the prestigious 'News Picture of the Year' in 2021. The fatal collision occurred on the Old Airport Road at Collinstown Lane, Co. Dublin, at around 10.50 am. Pic: File Mr O'Neill, who was in his 60s, was taken to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Gardaí yesterday confirmed no one else was injured. Gardaí appealed to witnesses to contact them: 'Anyone with information can contact Santry Garda Station at 01 666 4000, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any station.' A motorcyclist has been killed in a crash in CO Dublin. The motorbike he was driving and a tractor-trailer collided on the Old Airport Road in Collinstown at 10.50am on Saturday. Advertisement The man in his 60s was brought to the Mater Hospital where he has since been pronounced dead. No-one else was injured in the collision. The road is closed and local diversions are in place. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.
