Wexford Macra put spotlight on members at annual awards night
The annual awards night, brought together clubs from across the county to honour those who have gone above and beyond in their involvement. The Wexford branch of Macra includes the five clubs of Bree, Camolin, Kilmuckridge, Kilrush Askamore Ferns, and Ramsgrange.
Each club proudly nominated individuals for two key accolades: Best New Member and Member of the Year, and also Wexford Macra Person of the Year.
For Bree, David Finn received the Best New Member accolade while Grace Kehoe received Best Member of the Year. For Kilmuckridge, Zach McKenna cinched Best New Member while Member of the Year went to Sara Steacy.
Johnny Banville was awarded Best New Member for Ramsgrange and Rebecca Banville was presented with the Best Member of the Year award. In the Kilrush Askamore Ferns club, Best New Member went to Siobhan Dixon while Member of the Year went to Mariah Boland.
There was double the joy for Amber James as she took home both awards for the Camolin club.
The night's highest honour, Wexford Macra Person of the Year, was awarded to Sara Steacy, whose dedication and leadership has a huge impact on the organization.
PRO Sinead Kinsella added that though only a few members were highlighted with awards, the success of the club is thanks to the dedication of all members.
"While the spotlight shone on the award recipients, we would also like to emphasize that every member's efforts are deeply valued. Contributions do not go unnoticed and the dedication shown within Wexford Macra is next to none,' she said.
