After Schitt's Creek, Sarah Levy turns to selling haunted homes
Sarah Levy has been thinking about what the word "home" really means. For her character Susan Ireland on the spooky Canadian TV series SurrealEstate, a home is a house where someone's soul lives. Literally: Susan is a real estate agent who removes ghosts from haunted houses so that she can sell them. But for Levy, a home isn't about a specific location. She says home can be anywhere in the world, as long as she's with the people she loves. "It's just, it's where your family is," Levy tells Q guest host Talia Schlanger in an interview. "Wherever your family is, that's kind of where you can create what home is for you. And it turns out you don't need all your things." Sarah Levy has a close-knit, comedic family. Her dad is Eugene Levy, her brother is Dan Levy, and all three of them were on the Emmy Award-winning show Schitt's Creek. Nonetheless, she says the main origin of her sense of humour is her mother. "We learned a lot from my dad, but we learned way more from my mom," Levy says. "And I think that he would agree with that. Just in life even. "But her sense of comedy is so dry. And it rides a really wonderful line… we've learned how to just cut through the crap and get to the core of things."Although she enjoyed being on Schitt's Creek with her father and brother, Levy is happy to step into the spotlight on her own. She has a leading role as a telekinetic ghostbuster on SurrealEstate, which airs on CTV Sci-Fi Channel and Syfy. WATCH | Preview of SurrealEstate's Season 3 premiere: "Our shooting schedule is so rigorous. The days are so long. And we move really fast, and we shoot a lot of pages," Levy explains. "It's incredibly challenging in the best way… it is so immense and it was a huge learning curve. But I had, and I still have the most fun doing it." Sarah Levy's schedule isn't just busy with work: she also gave birth to her son right before she started the second season of SurrealEstate. But Levy says she still feels at home, even while shooting on location. "My parents, being the most wonderful parents and grandparents in the universe, came with us to Newfoundland and essentially raised him for the time that I was working," Levy says. "My son is obsessed with both my parents... my dad is so good at the imagination aspect of things, like really gets down on his level. And it's such a joy to be able to watch both of them."

SURREALESTATE Recap: (S03E08) Perchance to Dream
'To sleep — perchance to dream. Ay, there's the rub!' SurrealEstate Season 3 Episode 8, 'Perchance to Dream,' cleverly incorporates dreams into the ghostly narrative, complete with haunted bricks and gold treasure. It's a fun follow-up after last week's tragic cliffhanger. Luke also finally discovers the truth — Tyler was trying to kill Susan, and he's Elvis the Elephant. Now, he can focus on vanquishing his most formidable foe yet. Additionally, the agency grieves Tag, and the late 'Answer Guy' does one last kindness for Susan and encourages her to free herself from blame. RELATED: Read our recap of the previous SurrealEstate episode, 'A Slice of Afterlife' SurrealEstate, 'Perchance to Dream' We open with Susan (Sarah Levy) driving Tag (Alex Ozerov-Meyer) to his new home in the cemetery. He exits her car and walks toward his grave, which has a placard boasting Susan's Roman Ireland Agency photo on it. A woman (Patrice Goodman), who was sitting in the backseat of Susan's vehicle, moves to the passenger seat after Tag departs. She begins choking Susan. Thankfully, Susan wakes up after the nightmare. However, she notices bruises on her throat courtesy of Mystery Woman. The following morning, Luke (Tim Rozon), August (Maurice Dean Wint) and Lomax (Elena Juatco) meet at the agency. They mourn the loss of Tag. Auggie quotes the Scottish play. (Funny, since this episode title is a nod to Hamlet .) Luke thanks Lomax because her family's funeral home has stepped in to care for Tag. SURREALESTATE — 'Perchance to Dream' Season 3 Episode 8 — Pictured: Maurice Dean Wint as August Ripley — (Photo by: Albert Camicioli/SE3 Productions Inc./SYFY) Eccentric to the Last We learn that Tag doesn't want a memorial service. His will dictates that his cremated remains will be scattered in the Altiplano, a plateau in Peru, to be among the scat of the alpaca in their native land. He also wants a few hundred thousand pesos to be given to an Indigenous Chilean huaso as compensation for spreading his ashes. That's how you do it — you go out in style and ensure marginalized communities benefit. RELATED: Our 15 Favorite Wynonna Earp Moments Susan arrives, much to everyone's surprise. Luke reassures her that it's okay to take time off to grieve. However, she'd rather work. Lomax and Auggie voice echo her statement. After this, Susan visits Dorothy Kamara's residence. Dorothy died of a cardiac event in her sleep. The Roman Ireland Agency plans to put her home on the market. Lomax enters undetected, scaring Susan. She urges Susan to let her see to the Kamara property. Susan can spend time at the house they just renovated before they sell it. Then, they discuss Dorothy. The bank had no record of a checking or savings account. She was a software engineer, so she undoubtedly made good money. Where is it? Lomax remarks that the late Dorothy's house is bereft of personal effects. We Did It Later, Susan pours a glass of wine for herself and her late mother while sitting on the porch of the house she and Lomax renovated. They have buyers for it, too. Consider this a successful flip. Crash (Stephen Huszar) surprises Susan with peonies. He vows to be there for her if she needs it. She's touched by this gesture and asks him to call her later. RELATED: Wynonna Wednesday: Theories for a Wynonna Earp Season 5 After he leaves, Susan hears screaming emanating from the house. That's when she reads Tag's research — those bricks they got from Lomax's guy used to be from a mental institution. Welp, looks like the house is off the market for now. SURREALESTATE — 'Perchance to Dream' Season 3 Episode 8 — Pictured: Sarah Levy as Susan Ireland — (Photo by: Albert Camicioli/SE3 Productions Inc./SYFY) Next, in a dream, Lomax encounters the same strange woman from Susan's dream. Said woman cuts Lomax open, as if to prepare her for a funeral service. She pulls out a handful of gold coins from Lomax's stomach. Ew. Lomax wakes up screaming. She finds a cut near her carotid, and it's still bleeding. The following day, Auggie conducts a PKT in Dorothy's backyard. They discuss Lomax's terrifying nightmare. Can You Dig It? Auggie observes that our dreams are often trying to tell us something. He usually interprets a dream as auspicious, especially if he has the same dream consecutively. Then, Auggie reveals he has a dual reading from the PKT, which is unusual. Side note: We need more Auggie/Lomax adventures. Let's work on this dynamic. RELATED: Geek Girl Authority Crush of the Week: Susan Ireland Next, Auggie is in his workspace at Roman Ireland. The phone rings. He picks it up. Someone, a woman, asks him on the other end if he can 'dig it.' He finds himself in Dorothy Kamara's backyard. The woman returns with a pickaxe. Auggie, armed with a shovel, proceeds to dig where 'X' marks the spot. The woman joins him. We see their faces bathed in a golden light as whatever they find below ground appears to be quite valuable. Suddenly, Auggie wakes up in his workspace. Now, he's also dreamt about this woman. We see he has dirt on his hands from digging. Susan enters, informing him about the haunted bricks in her renovated house. She asks Auggie to investigate. He remarks that haunted bricks can be a thing if the place they originated from experienced significant trauma. No Guarantees Elsewhere, Luke stops by Tag's apartment. He wants to learn what made Tag, a bona fide homebody, leave his home. Luke finds the piece of toast with Tyler/Malec's face on one side and 'Susan Ireland RIP' on the other. It dawns on him — the car was meant for Susan, not Tag. RELATED: The Woman in the Yard Spoiler Review Meanwhile, Susan shows Auggie the brick accent wall in her renovated house. It's acting up now. We see scratch marks and hear screams. Bricks are flung from said accent wall across the hallway, seemingly of their own volition. Totally normal. At the same time, Luke meets with Tyler/Malec (R Austin Ball) at The Tell-Tale Heart. Obviously, Luke knows Tyler is behind the hit-and-run that killed Tag. He informs Tyler about one of his employees dying and asks the latter if he knew Tag. SURREALESTATE — 'Perchance to Dream' Season 3 Episode 8 — Pictured: Tim Rozon as Luke Roman — (Photo by: Albert Camicioli/SE3 Productions Inc./SYFY) Tyler cranks up the dickwad energy, dismissing Tag's death as inconsequential. Naturally, this doesn't sit well with Luke. Tyler offers unsolicited advice: nothing in life is guaranteed. Perhaps Tag was meant to die. (Ew.) Tyler claims he tried to give Luke a helping hand out of his 'mediocre' life. While Luke sits there, stunned, emotional and angry, Tyler tries to inhabit his body. We see the 'X's,' like those in Elvis the Elephant's eyes, flash across Tyler's eyes. However, Luke looks up before Tyler can make the leap. He storms out. The Window Is Closing After this, Seven (Karen Knox) confronts Malec at the golf course. She asks Malec for an update regarding Luke. Malec realizes that grief is his way into Luke's body. That's how he seizes control. Not exhaustion or inebriation — grief. Seven warns Malec that the window is closing. Malec urges her to keep his place open on the higher plane. Seven fires back that she doesn't need to remind him of the repercussions should Malec fail. RELATED: Underrated Horror Movie of the Month: Daybreakers After this, Lomax and Luke enter Dorothy's home. They discover a photo of Dorothy with a girl named Lydia, dated October 2023. It dawns on Lomax that Dorothy is the woman from all their dreams. Luke understands how Lomax and Auggie's dreams featuring Dorothy factor in — Auggie digging for treasure, Dorothy pulling gold coins from Lomax's stomach — but what about Susan's dream? SURREALESTATE — 'Perchance to Dream' Season 3 Episode 8 — Pictured: Elena Juatco as Clytemnestra Lomax — (Photo by: Albert Camicioli/SE3 Productions Inc./SYFY) Then, the gang reunites at Roman Ireland. Susan, Auggie and Lomax describe their dreams to Luke. Luke assumes Dorothy is angry at them because they're real estate agents. She doesn't want her house to be sold. Susan and Lomax head out to meet with Lomax's brick guy while Luke and Auggie return to Dorothy's house to conduct more tests. Hit the Bricks Later, Viktor (Nigel Hamer), Lomax's brick guy, washes his hands of the situation. He believes he's not responsible for what the bricks do once they've been purchased. Perhaps it's how they were installed? Susan's about to take Viktor out when Lomax stops her, insisting he's not worth it. RELATED: Read our Reginald the Vampire recaps Auggie and Luke dig where the 'X' was in Auggie's dream. Sure enough, they find buried treasure — gold. Meanwhile, Susan and Lomax drink coffee while the bricks go hog wild behind them. Susan thinks she's let everyone down, including her late mom. With this delay, the buyers might pull out. Lomax comforts her. That night, Luke has a dream. Since everyone who entered Dorothy's house dreamt of her, we can assume Luke's next. However, he meets Lydia (Destiny Heidi-Ke Stewart). She orders Luke to stay away from Dorothy. We learn that Dorothy sponsored Lydia, who's from Liberia. They forged a strong connection. Lydia reveals her dream was to attend school, and Dorothy vowed to help her achieve that dream. Dorothy was going to support Lydia and other girls like her financially. SURREALESTATE — 'Perchance to Dream' Season 3 Episode 8 — Pictured: (l-r) Maurice Dean Wint as August Ripley, Tim Rozon as Luke Roman — (Photo by: Albert Camicioli/SE3 Productions Inc./SYFY) Let Go Luke wakes up after dream-talking to Lydia. He heads back to Dorothy's house and instantly feels her presence. She emerges, putting a knife to his throat. Dorothy demands to know where her money is. Luke reminds her this isn't a dream; if she hurts someone, they stay hurt. Dorothy explains she didn't have family or friends. She kept to herself. She also had a high-paying job and saved her money. RELATED: 10 Out-of-This-World Predictions for Resident Alien Season 4 However, Dorothy didn't trust banks, so she converted her wealth into gold. After connecting with Lydia, Dorothy continued saving money, planning to give it to her and many other girls who needed it. But death derailed her plans. Luke reveals that Dorothy must relinquish her gold to move on. That's what's keeping her here. He reveals he's researched organizations in Liberia that are doing wonderful work. Luke would ensure that Dorothy's several million dollars' worth of gold gets to those organizations. It would make their dreams come true. An emotional Dorothy thanks him. SURREALESTATE — 'Perchance to Dream' Season 3 Episode 8 — Pictured: (l-r) Sarah Levy as Susan Ireland, Elena Juatco as Clytemnestra Lomax — (Photo by: Albert Camicioli/SE3 Productions Inc./SYFY) Don't Worry Meanwhile, Viktor arrives at Roman Ireland to tell Susan that his guys would gladly replace the bricks in that accent wall, free of charge. We learn that someone associated with Susan threatened to leak Viktor's illegal doings. Susan promises to keep his secrets if his fellas can fix her wall (with non-haunted bricks). RELATED: Read our SurrealEstate recaps Viktor reveals this person didn't disclose his name, but he left a business card. He hands it to Susan. We see it's Tag's card. The embossed gold gleams on it. Viktor relays a message from Tag, urging Susan not to worry about anything. It's all good. Susan smiles. Later, Tyler and Luke chat on the phone. Tyler apologizes for his behavior at The Tell-Tale Heart. 'Something's gonna kill ya,' Tyler says, and this isn't the first time he's rattled off this aphorism. Luke clocks this, too. Peonies and Elephants Susan reunites with Crash and asks him how he knew peonies were her favorite flower. Crash admits he planned to buy her roses, but a voice whispered 'Buy the pink ones' in his ear. Clearly, this is her mom's work. Susan kisses him. Awww. That night, Luke dreams he's sitting in the agency, Elvis the Elephant before him. Elvis talks to him (voiced by Patrick Kwok-Choon, who played Duncan in Season 1 and voiced the Smart House in Season 2). 'Something's gonna kill ya,' Elvis says ominously. Luke wakes up and realizes that Tyler/Malec is Elvis the Elephant. SurrealEstate drops new episodes every Thursday at 10 pm EST on Syfy. Geek Girl Authority Crush of the Week: SUSAN IRELAND
Welcome to this week's installment of Geek Girl Authority Crush of the Week, wherein we spotlight strong women and nonbinary folks who inspire us. This includes fictional characters and creators in geeky media. They are a prime example of empowerment and how crucial it is for youth to have that example to follow. DISCLAIMER: The following contains spoilers for Syfy's SurrealEstate , particularly Susan Ireland's arc. Susan Ireland Fast Facts SURREALESTATE — 'A Slice of Afterlife' Season 3 Episode 7 — Pictured: Sarah Levy as Susan Ireland — (Photo by: Albert Camicioli/SE3 Productions Inc./SYFY) Susan Ireland (Sarah Levy) joined Luke Roman (Tim Rozon) and the gang in the SurrealEstate pilot. She used to work for Bob Livingston (Jefferson Brown) at his real estate agency. Susan and Bob had an affair, made significantly worse when considering the power imbalance between them. We also learned in Season 1 that Susan's father passed away a few years before, and that she's very close to her mother, Constance (Alison Woolridge). Susan quickly learns that the Roman Agency is a unique supernatural real estate beast, dealing with possessed houses and helping ghosts move on. Luke has a tether to those beyond the veil and can communicate with spirits. Like Luke, Susan boasts her own set of powers: pyrokinesis and telekinesis. However, Susan was mostly hired for her A+ — sizzling , you might say — track record regarding house sales. She's a shark in the biz. In the Season 1 finale, Susan reunites with the ghost of her late father, Michael (Laurie Murdoch), and finds catharsis in her grief journey. RELATED: 10 Out-of-This-World Predictions for Resident Alien Season 4 In Season 2, Susan purchases a swanky new house, which promptly absorbs her (I hate when that happens). She spends a few episodes trapped there until she emerges, possessed by the house's malicious entity. Thankfully, the group bands together to expel the spirit from Susan. Luke eventually makes Susan a co-partner, and the agency's name changes to the Roman Ireland Agency. Season 3 Then, Season 3 sees Susan navigate the nuances of grief in the wake of her mom's passing. She decides to renovate and flip a house with the aid of Lomax (Elena Juatco). Later, she offers advice to her bestie Zooey (Savannah Basley) after the latter leaves Roman Ireland to become a kickass lawyer. She tackles having more responsibilities as a co-partner while using her abilities to whip supernaturally touched houses into shape for the market. Additionally, Susan dips her toes into the dating pool, encountering more than her fair share of duds until she meets Crash (Stephen Huszar), a firefighter who douses a blaze in her house that she inadvertently started. Earlier in the season, the agency hires a new researcher to replace Father Phil (Adam Korson), Tag (Alex Ozerov-Meyer), a friend of August's (Maurice Dean Wint). Tag carries a torch for Susan, and she grows to like him as a friend. RELATED: Wynonna Wednesday: Theories for a Wynonna Earp Season 5 In episode seven, Susan gifts Tag with his own business card. Tyler MacNeil (R Austin Ball), a man possessed by a being called Malec, tries to run over Susan in the parking garage of Tag's apartment complex. Tag pushes her out of the way, taking the hit from Tyler's vehicle. Unfortunately, he dies. How Susan will cope with Tag's death remains to be seen… The Real Deal SURREALESTATE — 'Baba O'Reilly' Season 1 Episode 8 — Pictured: Sarah Levy as Susan Ireland — (Photo by: Derm Carberry/Blue Ice Pictures/SYFY) Susan is a rockstar at her job. She's immensely passionate about what she does and excels at it. Our co-partner possesses confidence in spades, and rightly so. In addition, Susan can manipulate fire with her mind and move objects with her mind. That makes her a formidable force of nature, figuratively and literally. You'd want Susan by your side in a fight, to be sure. Outside of work, Susan is an empathetic, kind soul. She'd gladly fall on her sword for her loved ones. She also has a sassy, biting sense of humor, which inexplicably complements her sunshine demeanor. If anyone can be described as personable and warm among the Roman Ireland staff, it's Susan. And that innate warmth isn't because she can control fire. RELATED: Looking for another crush? Check out our Geek Girl Authority Crushes of the Week Susan's also unafraid of giving someone a stern talking-to when needed. When she learns about Luke potentially partnering with Tyler for a business venture antithetical to Roman Ireland's core values, Susan gives her partner a much-needed reality check. Why She Matters SURREALESTATE — 'Letting Go' Season 2 Episode 10 — Pictured: (l-r) Sarah Levy as Susan Ireland, Tim Rozon as Luke Roman — (Photo by: Blue Ice Pictures/SYFY) Susan is a badass co-partner of a reputable real estate agency that deals with literal life and death. It takes quite a bit of grit to weather the supernatural storms Roman Ireland encounters on the daily. Susan forges ahead, though, even on her worst days. However, this time around, she's also allowing herself to grieve her late mother, a key indicator of her growth over the past three seasons. RELATED: Read our SurrealEstate recaps So, be like Susan Ireland. Be brave. Protect what's yours. Be confident in your abilities. Begin each day armed with caffeine and your snarky wit. Oh, and fight off the supernatural with fire, and when that doesn't work, start moving sh*t with your mind. SurrealEstate drops new episodes every Thursday at 10 pm EST on Syfy. SURREALESTATE Recap: (S03E06) Battleground
SurrealEstate Season 3 Episode 6, 'Battleground,' depicts a supernatural warzone as a deceased Vietnam War soldier turns the upstairs of one home into a battlefield. Luke gets advice from the Beyond, and Susan meets a handsome guy in a truly Hallmark moment. 'Battleground' is a solid outing with fun character beats. It strikes a nice balance between narrative movement and character development. RELATED: Read our recap of the previous SurrealEstate episode, 'The Gardener' SurrealEstate, 'Battleground' We open with Dwight Campbell (Michael Chan) waking up on the couch during the night. He overhears what sounds like gunshots upstairs. Then, he stumbles upon a scene from a war film. A young man (Sam Ashe Arnold) places his hand over Dwight's mouth, shushing him. Love it when a literal war breaks out in my house. Elsewhere, Bob Livingston (Jefferson Brown) visits Susan (Sarah Levy) with a proposition: he wants to merge his real estate agency with Roman Ireland. Naturally, Susan is repulsed by him, her ex-boss and lover, and the idea. Bob begs her to run it by Luke after presenting her with a breakdown of his agency's annual stats. Well, something of that nature; I never claimed to be a real estate agent. SURREALESTATE — 'Battleground' Season 3 Episode 6 — Pictured: Maurice Dean Wint as August Ripley — (Photo by: Albert Camicioli/SE3 Productions Inc./SYFY) World War Spook After this, Susan and August (Maurice Dean Wint) tune in for updates from Tag (Alex Ozerov-Meyer). We learn that Luke is checking out a cottage on the lake while Lomax is still assisting her parents at the funeral home. Our trio chats about the Campbell house and its major case of World War Spook. Tag plans to research the house's residential history, while Auggie will conduct a PKT, and Susan will chat with the Campbells. RELATED: Our 15 Favorite Wynonna Earp Moments Later, Susan talks to Dwight and his husband, Peter (Colin Andrew Nimblett). They've lived in that house for 11 years without any issues. In addition, neither of them served in the military. Susan reassures them that Roman Ireland will resolve this ghostly issue (but first, a few readings). Then, Susan calls Luke (Tim Rozon) to brief him on the situation. He's en route to the cottage on the lake but is currently driving through country back roads, utterly lost. The connection between Luke and Susan keeps phasing in and out, too. This is the start of a horror movie, right? Luke parks in front of a tiny house that resembles a shed. He moves toward the door, clearly planning to ask for directions. The War Is Here Auggie conducts his PKT outside the Campbell house while Susan investigates inside. She wanders upstairs, where she encounters the inexplicable warzone. Auggie overhears the conversation between the soldiers and a great, big boom as a grenade goes off. He rushes upstairs to check on Susan. She points at the closet where the dead soldiers emerged. However, it's empty now. It looks like your typical bedroom closet. RELATED: Wynonna Wednesday: Theories for a Wynonna Earp Season 5 Next, Luke meets Harry (Stuart Hughes), a curmudgeonly older man who would rather go into hermit mode than interact with people. Listen, I get that. I'm there now. Anyway, Luke asks for directions to the cottage, but Harry brusquely offers terse, one-word responses. 'No' seems to be his favorite word. We hear thunder booming overhead. Luke has misplaced his car keys, and his vehicle is locked. He asks Harry for shelter to wait out the storm. Harry reluctantly lets him inside. Meanwhile, Tag shares his research with Susan. He asks her to describe the soldier who interacted with her (the man from the beginning of the episode). She struggles to describe his uniform. Tag needs this info to figure out what decade homeboy is from. He pivots, asking Susan how she's doing. She thanks him for caring. Tag's a sweetie. SURREALESTATE — 'Battleground' Season 3 Episode 6 — Pictured: Sarah Levy as Susan Ireland — (Photo by: Albert Camicioli/SE3 Productions Inc./SYFY) Bigger on the Inside Elsewhere, Luke discovers that Harry's tiny house is bigger on the inside (but a little less sci-fi looking than the TARDIS). He meets Harry's beautiful senior pooch, Erasmus. Harry goes on about the outside world being irrelevant. Suddenly, Luke notices the front door is missing. Harry claims it's where Luke left it, though, and it reappears. RELATED: What's New on TV This Week (May 4 – 10) Then, Luke clocks that Erasmus is a ghost. The pup died at 13 years old. Luke asks Harry when he passed. We've got a ghost double-whammy, folks. Meanwhile, Rochelle (Joy Tanner) brings Auggie his lunch. He's fiddling with a device specially for the Campbell house soldier ghost. Rochelle makes a crack about The Shining twins finally reaching menopause. Auggie claims he doesn't joke about the deadly weaponry ASDRA creates, so he would like Rochelle to extend that same courtesy for his job. She leaves, irritated. Ghost Soldier At the same time, Tag and Susan narrow down various battle helmets to one worn from the '40s to the '80s. So, they could be dealing with a WWII, Korean War or Vietnam War soldier. Auggie joins the conversation. It's here that Tag concludes that the soldier hails from the Vietnam War era. Susan offers to tell the ghost soldier that his war is over. RELATED: The Woman in the Yard Spoiler Review That night, Susan calls out to the ghost soldier, declaring that the war ended a long time ago. Suddenly, she's rocked by an explosion. The soldier emerges and calls for a medic. Susan looks out of sorts as she tries to break the truth to him. Later, Harry tells Luke about his life. His wife and kids loathed him. Erasmus changed his life. However, after the poor doggie passed away, Harry wasn't far behind him, plagued by poor health. Harry offers Luke a glass of wine. Then, he delivers a message. Management wants Luke to understand that not every spirit needs to move on. Sometimes, a spirit wants to stay put and relive their happiest moments. Stay Humble Also, as per Management, Luke doesn't know everything. They advise him to approach his job from that angle. After imparting this message from beyond the veil, Harry hands Luke his car keys. Luke gives Erasmus, the goodness ghost boy, a few pets before departing. RELATED: Underrated Horror Movie of the Month: Daybreakers Then, Tag hits the research motherlode, revealing that the soldier's name is Robert Vincennes. He dated Lynette, whose family resided in the Campbell house in the late '60s. They went to prom together. Robert was deployed right after high school and died in action in 1968. Tag found Lynette, who is widowed and still lives in the area. Susan asks for her address. That evening, Auggie tells Rochelle about his uncle, who served in the Vietnam War. Upon returning, he was a completely different person. Auggie reveals his uncle steered clear of social events, even those of the familial persuasion, after that. Rochelle assumes this is why Auggie struggled at ASDRA. Robert the Ghost's story resonates profoundly with Auggie. He hoped to help this 'troubled young man.' SURREALESTATE — 'Battleground' Season 3 Episode 6 — Pictured: (l-r) Tim Rozon as Luke Roman, Sarah Levy as Susan Ireland, Maurice Dean Wint as August Ripley — (Photo by: Albert Camicioli/SE3 Productions Inc./SYFY) An Interrogation Meanwhile, Tag gives Susan more info regarding Robert. Before they end the virtual call, Tag offers his condolences for Susan's loss — the passing of her mom. Aw. Inside the Campbell house, Auggie tries to contact Robert. Like Susan, he declares that the war is over. Unfortunately, Robert knocks Auggie unconscious. RELATED: Read our Reginald the Vampire recaps The following day, Luke returns to the office. He spent the night at the cottage on the lake, but the trip was worth it. The cottage will make a pretty penny on the market. Susan updates Luke regarding the Campbell house. Why would Lynette's soldier boyfriend haunt her old house decades later? Rochelle calls Luke, asking if he's seen Auggie. Auggie never came home the night before. Elsewhere, Auggie wakes up tied to a chair. Robert interrogates him about a fellow soldier who's missing. He accuses Auggie of killing his friend. Luke arrives. He calls out to Robert. Robert threatens to shoot Auggie in the head, training a gun on the latter. Can a ghost gun really kill living flesh, though? SURREALESTATE — 'Battleground' Season 3 Episode 6 — Pictured: Maurice Dean Wint as August Ripley — (Photo by: Albert Camicioli/SE3 Productions Inc./SYFY) A Reunion and a Fire Thankfully, Luke persuades Robert to stand down. Susan meets Lynette Meeker (Anne Shepherd) and brings her to the Campbell house. Luke and Robert play a game of catch outside while Auggie watches from afar. Robert explains how important Lynette was to him. Sadly, they stopped writing letters months away from his untimely demise in battle. RELATED: 10 Out-of-This-World Predictions for Resident Alien Season 4 Lynette reunites with Robert. She transforms into young Lynette (Eleonora Poutilova), who kisses Robert. She's grateful for this closure. Now, she can finally say goodbye. Robert moves on. Auggie explains to Luke and Susan that US soldier remains from the Vietnam War were finally transported stateside after decades abroad. This is why Robert is haunting the house now — he's back home. Next, Susan tosses a piece of Bob Livingston-related mail behind her onto her kitchen counter. Speak of the Devil, he calls her. Susan reveals she didn't bring his proposal of merging to Luke, but she's rejecting it anyway. He wouldn't understand or gel with their moral code. He irritates her during the conversation, and her anger sets the crumpled-up mail on the counter ablaze. The fire spreads up the curtains behind Susan. After she hangs up on Bob, she says aloud that she hopes he dies in a fire. Comedy! SURREALESTATE — 'Battleground' Episode 306 — Pictured: (l-r) Sarah Levy as Susan Ireland, Stephen Huszar as Crash Newberg — (Photo by: Albert Camicioli/SE3 Productions Inc./SYFY) A Warning and a Meet-Cute Later, Vonda (Jessika Mathurin) stops by the agency. She chats with Auggie, warning him about Tyler/Malec. Tyler isn't himself these days. Vonda tells Auggie about Tyler and Luke's new partnership. Oh, and he's obsessed with Luke. We know Auggie has been suspicious of Tyler since day one. Auggie vows to pass this on to his boss. RELATED: Read our recaps for The Ark Then, Susan meets a firefighter, Crash (Stephen Huszar), who saves her kitchen from death by fire. He's a cutie. They flirt with each other. She gives him her card. Crash offers to regale Susan with the story behind his nickname if she has dinner with him. Smooth. Funny that she meets a firefighter after starting a fire with her mind. After this, Susan returns to the office after Auggie informs her about Vonda's warning. She confronts Luke about his deal with Tyler. Luke insists he was going to tell her about it.
