Yemen's Houthis claim fresh attack against Israel
Sanaa, May 30 (UNI) Yemen's Houthi group took responsibility Thursday night for launching a fresh "hypersonic ballistic missile" attack against central Israel, saying it was aimed at Ben Gurion Airport. "We carried out a military operation targeting Ben Gurion Airport in central Israel, using a hypersonic ballistic missile," Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea said in a statement, aired by Houthi-run al-Masirah TV. Sarea said the group would continue its attacks "until the Israeli aggression on Gaza stops and the blockade is lifted." "We will continue to ban Israeli air traffic to and from Ben Gurion Airport," the Houthi military spokesperson added. Meanwhile, the Israeli military said in a statement that it intercepted a missile fired by Houthi forces in Yemen towards central Israel. On Wednesday, the Israeli air forces launched airstrikes on the Sanaa airport in the Houthi-held capital Sanaa, destroying the runway, facilities, and the last passenger plane in the airport. The Houthi group, which controls much of northern Yemen, has been targeting Israel since November 2023 to show solidarity with Palestinians amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza. Houthis claim missile strike on Israeli airport; Israel vows retaliation
Sanaa, May 10 (UNI) Yemen's Houthi movement said on Friday it had launched a "hypersonic ballistic missile" targeting Israel's Ben Gurion Airport, hours after the Israeli military reported intercepting a missile fired from Yemen. The strike, which occurred Friday afternoon, also included a coordinated drone attack on a military facility in Tel Aviv, according to a statement broadcast by the Houthis' al-Masirah television channel. "The enemy's defense systems failed to intercept our missile," Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea said, claiming the attack shut down airport operations for over an hour and forced "millions" of Israelis into shelters. Sarea said the missile strike was part of an intensifying campaign to impose an aerial blockade on Israel in retaliation for what he described as "war crimes" in Gaza. He urged international airlines to suspend flights to Israel and warned that Israeli ships in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea remained within missile range. The Israeli military confirmed that its defense systems had been activated and intercepted a projectile over central Israel. Sirens were heard across the Tel Aviv area, sending residents scrambling for shelter. A 55-year-old woman sustained minor injuries while fleeing, emergency services said. Since Israel resumed its military offensive in Gaza on March 18, the Houthis have launched approximately 28 ballistic missiles and dozens of drones toward Israeli territory, according to Israeli media reports. Friday's attack came days after Israeli airstrikes targeted Houthi-held infrastructure, severely damaging the Sanaa International Airport and the Red Sea port of Hodeidah. The escalation also follows an Oman-brokered ceasefire deal reached on Tuesday between the Houthis and the United States, aimed at halting weeks of mutual attacks. Despite the agreement, Houthi leaders have vowed to continue targeting Israel until it ends its military campaign in Gaza and lifts the blockade on the enclave. Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz condemned Friday's attack, accusing Iran of orchestrating it. "The Houthis continue to launch Iranian missiles at Israel. As we promised, we will respond forcefully in Yemen and wherever necessary," he said in a statement. The Houthi group, which controls most of northern Yemen, including the capital Sanaa, has portrayed the ceasefire deal with the United States as a political achievement. Nasr al-Din Amir, head of the Houthi media authority, said the agreement had "neutralized" U.S. military pressure. "Israel now stands exposed on the front line, within range of our missiles," he said in an interview with al-Masirah. No U.S. airstrikes on Houthi positions in northern Yemen have been reported since the deal took effect on Tuesday. UNI XINHUA GNK

Two missiles fired from Yemen intercepted: Israeli military
Jerusalem: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Friday that it had intercepted two missiles fired from Yemen. In the latest incident this afternoon, air raid sirens were activated in northern Israel, as the IDF stated that it is examining the outcome of interception efforts targeting a ballistic missile. No injuries or damage have been reported so far. It follows the IDF's interception of a missile also launched from Yemen early Friday morning. Israel's national emergency service, MDA, said in a statement that there were no reports of casualties, except for a man who was bruised on his way to a shelter, Xinhua news agency reported. Israel's state-owned Kan TV reported that in the morning incident, interceptor debris hit a kindergarten in Mishmar HaEmek, a kibbutz in northern Israel, but caused no casualties. Earlier on April 27, Israel's military said that it had intercepted a ballistic missile launched from Yemen toward the Dead Sea. Police said sirens were sounded in the Dead Sea area and the Arava region. No casualties were reported, said the country's Magen David Adom rescue service. Israel's Channel 12 reported that this was the 11th missile the Houthis had launched toward Israel since the beginning of April. Earlier on April 26, Yemen's Houthis claimed responsibility for a missile attack that reportedly triggered sirens across southern Israel. "We targeted the Israeli enemy's Nevatim Air Base in the Negev region using a hypersonic ballistic missile," which had "successfully reached the target," Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea said in a televised statement aired by Houthi-run al-Masirah TV. Sarea said the operation came in response to "the ongoing Israeli offensive on Gaza," vowing to launch more attacks until the Israeli aggression on the Palestinian enclave stops and the blockade on it is lifted. The Houthi group, which controls much of northern Yemen, has been targeting Israeli targets since November 2023 to show solidarity with Palestinians amid the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

Yemeni Armed Forces Respond to US Massacres, Strike Truman Carrier and Israeli Target in Occupied Palestine
The Yemeni Armed Forces responded to the two US massacres in Sanaa and Saada, which left dozens of martyrs and injuries, targeting the American aircraft carrier 'Truman' and its associated warships and engaging them in a joint operation carried out by the naval forces and the air force. According to a statement read by General Yahya Sarea, the missile force launched a number of cruise and ballistic missiles and drones over the past hours. — العميد يحيى سريع (@army21yemen) April 28, 2025 The resulting engagement and confrontation forced the carrier to retreat from its previous position and head to the far north of the Red Sea, General Sarea said. The Yemeni Armed Forces will persist to target and pursue the aircraft carrier and all enemy warships in the Red and Arabian Seas until the aggression against Yemen is halted, he vowed. Moreover, the Yemeni Air Force carried out a military operation targeting a vital Israeli enemy target in the occupied Ashkelon area with a Yaffa drone. General Sarea affirmed that the attack came in support for the oppressed Palestinian people and their resistance. 'We continue, relying on God, to prevent Israeli navigation in the Red and Arabian Seas. We continue to rely on God in confronting the American aggression. We continue to trust in God to support and stand by our steadfast brothers in the Gaza Strip until the aggression against them stops and the siege is lifted.'

2 killed, 10 injured in US airstrikes on Yemen's Houthi-held capital: Report
Sanaa: US airstrikes on Yemen's Houthi-held capital Sanaa overnight killed two people and wounded 10 others, Houthi-controlled health authorities said on Sunday. The strikes targeted multiple locations across Sanaa, the authorities said, adding that two women and three children were among the injured, Xinhua news agency reported. All the wounded were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Houthi-run al-Masirah TV reported that US forces carried out additional strikes in several northern provinces and said three US strikes also hit the Galaxy Leader, a cargo vessel seized by the Houthis in November 2023 during attacks on Red Sea shipping linked to Israel. No casualties were reported from the strikes outside Sanaa or on the vessel. Separately, the Houthis on Sunday claimed responsibility for launching a missile at Israel's Nevatim Air Base in the Negev region, marking their second such attack in less than 48 hours. The Israeli military said it intercepted the missile after warning sirens were triggered in the Arava region and near the Dead Sea. No casualties were reported, according to Israel's Magen David Adom rescue service. In a statement carried by al-Masirah TV, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea said the group used a "hypersonic ballistic missile" to target the base, pledging continued military operations in support of Palestinians amid the war in Gaza. "Our military operations in support of the Palestinian people will continue until the aggression on Gaza ends and the blockade is lifted," Sarea said. The strikes come after US airstrikes hit the Ras Isa fuel port in Yemen last week, killing at least 74 people and wounding 171 others. The strikes follow the resumption of negotiations in Rome between the US and Iran over Tehran's rapidly advancing nuclear program, which Washington has linked to its attacks in Yemen. The US is targeting the Houthis because of the group's attacks on shipping in the Red Sea, a crucial global trade route, and on Israel. The Houthis are the last militant group in Iran's self-described "Axis of Resistance" that is capable of regularly attacking Israel. Tensions between the Houthis and US forces have escalated sharply since March 15, when Washington resumed airstrikes on Houthi targets in Yemen, a campaign criticised by many regional governments as a threat to wider stability.
