Hassan Deputy Commissioner appeals to public to cooperate with SC sub-caste survey

SHIVAMOGGA Hassan Deputy Commissioner C. Sathyabhama has appealed to the public to cooperate with the 1,968 enumerators appointed by the district administration to conduct the comprehensive caste survey of the Scheduled Castes community to gather empirical data on sub-caste demographics. In a press conference in Hassan on Monday, Ms. Sathyabhama said the enumerators would make door-to-door visits and collect the data on a mobile application. She said that every polling station is appointed an enumerator, and if the number of households in the booth limits is more than 150, an additional enumerator will be appointed. There will be one supervisor for every 10 enumerators. Three phases In the first phase, the Deputy Commissioner said, the enumerators would collect data during the door-to-door visits. In the second phase, camps would be set up in polling stations, and those families who missed sharing data in the first phase could visit the nearest camp and share their details. In the third phase, the families will have the opportunity to enter data online. Ms. Sathyabhama appealed to the public to keep their Aadhaar and ration cards ready and cooperate with the enumerators when they visit. Survey questions During the survey, the enumerators will collect details related to the caste, sub-caste, profession, educational qualification, landholdings, annual income, number of cattle, government facilities availed of so far, movable and immovable properties, source of drinking water, toilet facility, fuel for cooking and political career, if any. The public could verify the data they shared with the enumerators by visiting the survey website, she added.

Kozhikode: Tirur Police in Malappuram have arrested a woman under Pocso for allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy , recording the act and then using the video to threaten him. The accused has been identified as Sathyabhama, 30, hailing from Kalladikkode in Palakkad. Police are on the lookout for her husband and Tirur native Sabik who allegedly filmed the sexual assault . The incident took place four years back and the arrest was made following a complaint by the survivor who has now turned 19. The couple allegedly used the footage to threaten the boy and to extort money from him.
