JPSC civil services mains result out after 11-month delay

Ranchi: After nearly a year-long wait, civil service aspirants in the state are relieved as the (JPSC) announced the results of the (Written) Competitive Examination 2023 (11th to 13th) late on Tuesday night. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now A total of 864 candidates successfully cleared the Mains examination conducted for 342 administrative posts in various govt departments. It brought joy, relief, and renewed energy among the candidates, who waited for nearly 11 months for the results. The Mains exam was held from June 22 to 24, 2024, but the results were postponed following the end of the tenure of the former JPSC chairman. The recruitment drive, advertised on Jan 27, 2024, saw its preliminary stage held on March 17, 2024, and shortlisted 7,011 candidates for the Mains. The application process for the combined civil services examination commenced on Feb 1, 2024, and candidates were allowed to submit their applications until Feb 29, 2024. However, the prolonged delay in declaring the results led to widespread protests and demonstrations outside the JPSC headquarters, including a hunger strike by a group of aspirants till last week. Satyanarayan Shukla, an aspirant, said, "We waited 11 months for the results. The delay tested our patience, but we kept raising our voice through peaceful protests. This announcement has finally brought us the clarity and direction we needed." The selected candidates now move on to the final stage, the interview round, for which dates will be announced soon. The recruitment drive aims to fill key vacancies in departments such as administrative services, finance, labour, cooperative, and education, offering aspirants the opportunity to contribute to the governance and development of the state. Vishal Choudhary, another candidate, said, "The uncertainty affected my mental preparation, but now this result has given me new hope. The focus now shifts to the next interview stage."

1 2 Ranchi: Hundreds of state civil service aspirants on Tuesday protested outside the Jharkhand Public Service Commission 's (JPSC) office over the delay in publishing of several recruitment examinations which were held recently. Heavy police deployments were made to prevent any untoward incident outside the office by district demonstrators demanded that the results of 11th and 13th JPSC Civil Services (Mains) be published at once. On Thursday, the aspirants begun an indefinite hunger strike under the banner of Jharkhand State Students Association (JSSA) to press for their president Satyanarayan Shukla said the results were held back for nearly a year. "By withholding the results, the JPSC has made our lives uncertain. We urged the Governor and appealed to the JPSC chairman, but our demands were not fulfilled. Now, we are ready to go to any extent for the results and will continue our hunger strike," he protestors also demanded for declaration of results of several other recruitment processes, including civil judges, assistant professors, and assistant doctors of homeopathy, which have been languishing in different stages of the process for a long contacted, JPSC chairman L Khiangte's office declined to comment on the issue. Last week, CM Hemant Soren said state govt cant not interfere in JPSC's matters as it is an independent body.

1 2 Ranchi: Civil services aspirants from across Jharkhand initiated an indefinite hunger strike outside the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) office in Ranchi, demanding the immediate release of results for the 11th and 13th Civil Services (Mains) examinations. The protest commenced on Thursday, with candidates expressing deep frustration over the prolonged delay in result aspirants gathered outside the JPSC headquarters under the banner of Jharkhand State Student Association (JSSA) and sloganeered against the Commission's inefficiency in declaring the results of the 11th JSPC examination, which have been ready for the past 11 president Satyanarayan Shukla said, "Despite the results of the 11th to 13th JPSC combined civil services examination, been ready for nearly a year now, the Commission has not published them yet, putting the aspirants' lives in uncertainty. Previously, the commission used to say that the absence of a JPSC head was hindering the processes, but it has already been two months since the appointment of the chairman. So, what's hindering them from publishing the results?"When the aspirants called on the chairman in Feb, they were promised that the results would be released within a week of his returning from an international trip. However, five weeks have passed, and the results are still pending, he patron Rahul Kumar said the aspirants again met the JPSC chairman on Wednesday and appealed to expedite the result declaration process. "The chairman acknowledged the delay and admitted that the commission had not been able to fulfil its commitment regarding the timely release of the examination results. Our unequivocal resolution is that this movement and hunger strike will continue until the results are declared. If the Commission and the government remain silent, students will be compelled to take extreme steps, for which the entire responsibility will lie with the Commission and the government," he aspirants said apart from JPSC civil service examinations, results of various recruitment processes, including those of civil judges, assistant professors, and assistant doctors of homoeopathy, have been languishing in different stages of the process for a long to the aspirants' hunger strike, chief minister Hemant Soren said "The JPSC is an independent body and the state govt cannot interfere in most of the matters of the Commission.
