OIC Heads Delegation to Saudi-Maldives Joint International Forum

Mohamed Mandour The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, leads the General Secretariat delegation at the Saudi-Maldives Joint International Forum on "Combating Corruption and Promoting Integrity in the Tourism Sector," which commenced in the Maldives. The forum features participation from Hussain Mohamed Latheef, Vice President of the Republic of Maldives, who opened the discussions by underscoring the forum's significance as a strategic platform for tackling urgent challenges, sharing actionable solutions, and collaboratively advancing the global agenda against corruption. He highlighted the relevance of this year's theme as particularly timely. In his address, the Secretary-General applauded the collaborative efforts between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Maldives to strengthen anti-corruption measures within the tourism industry. He remarked that the forum epitomizes the unwavering commitment of OIC member states to combat corruption, as evidenced by the recent adoption of the Makkah Agreement on Cooperation in Enforcing Anti-Corruption Laws. He asserted that the recommendations emerging from this forum will play a crucial role in enhancing cooperative strategies within this critical domain.
