Egyptian composer performs Arabic music concert at Sydney Opera House

Egyptian maestro and composer Hany Farahat performed a massive concert at the Sydney Opera House, one of the world's most prominent musical venues. Farahat conducted the Australian Metropolitan Orchestra and the Saudi National Orchestra as part of the seventh international edition of the 'Marvels of Saudi Orchestra' series, organized by the Saudi Music Commission under the theme 'Creativity Expands at Every Stop.' The concert was a critical success, with Australian audiences filling up the opera seats to the program's Arabic and Australian musical pieces. Farahat expressed his happiness with the concert's success and the audience's response, and noted the remarkable presence of Arab communities residing in Australia, who traveled from several cities to Sydney to attend the performance. The program also included a joint musical piece blending Arab and Australian heritage, along with special pieces performed by both Australian and Saudi orchestras. Farahat emphasized that this experience represents a new milestone in the musical series, which aims to highlight the diversity and history of Arab music and promote cultural exchange. The maestro further noted that the 'Marvels of Saudi Orchestra' series has in recent years contributed to building a new audience for Arabic music around the world. It has also strengthened its presence on international stages through previous collaborations in France, Mexico, the US, England, Japan, and Saudi Arabia. Arab musicians possess the capability to compete globally, he said, and that these concerts open new horizons for bringing Arabic music closer to the global audience.
