RIYADH, May 13: Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received, in Jeddah, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee; Yasser Al-Misehal, President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation; Khalid Al-Ghamdi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Ahli Club along with members of the technical and administrative staff and players of the football team. The meeting was held in celebration of Al-Ahli Club's triumph in the 2025 AFC Champions League. The Crown Prince congratulated the club's officials and players on this significant national accomplishment and praised their exceptional performance, which reflects the remarkable progress of the Kingdom's sports sector. According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Crown Prince welcomed in Jeddah Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki, Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, along with Yasser Al-Misehal, President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, Dr. Khalid Al-Eisa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Ahli Club Company, as well as members of the technical and administrative staff and the football players of the team, in celebration of their achievement in winning the 2024/2025 AFC Champions League title. The Crown Prince congratulated Al-Ahli's officials and players on this major national accomplishment, praising their outstanding performance, which reflects the progress being made in the sports sector. Prince Mohammed received on Sunday Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) President Yasser Almisehal, Al-Ahli Saudi Club Chairman Khalid Al-Issa, along with the club's staff and players, on the occasion of their victory in the 2025 AFC Champions League Elite. The Crown Prince congratulated the officials and players of Al-Ahli on their historic achievement and outstanding performance, describing it as a reflection of the remarkable progress of Saudi Arabia's sports sector. He emphasized the importance of maintaining excellence and continuing efforts to elevate the Kingdom's presence on the global sports stage. In a separate meeting in Jeddah, Prince Mohammed also received Saudi national Paralympic athlete Abdulrahman Al-Qurashi to celebrate his gold medal victory at the Paris Paralympic Games. The Crown Prince commended Al-Qurashi's exceptional accomplishment, noting that such successes serve as inspiration for all Saudi athletes, men and women alike, to pursue excellence and proudly raise the Kingdom's flag at international competitions. Saudi Gazette report KUWAIT — Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Dr. Thomas Bach, IOC President-Elect Kirsty Coventry, and Saudi Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal at the Bayan Palace in Kuwait on Sunday. The meeting was also attended by Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. The meeting took place during Kuwait's hosting of the 37th meeting of the presidents of Olympic committees in the GCC countries and the 45th General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia. The discussions focused on the relationship between the Olympic family in Asia, particularly the Gulf countries, and the IOC, with the upcoming presidency transition to former Olympic champion Kirsty Coventry, scheduled for June 23, 2025.

Saudi Ministry of Sport, stc Group Sign Cooperation Agreement

The Saudi Ministry of Sport signed on Saturday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the stc Group at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, coinciding with the stc Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Formula 1 race. The signing was attended by Chairman of the Board of Directors of stc Group Prince Mohammed bin Khalid bin Abdullah bin Faisal and Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal. The MoU aims to explore prospects for mutual cooperation and to provide innovative solutions and services in digital infrastructure and modern technologies in a way that supports the sports sector and boosts development opportunities for strategic projects, in line with relevant regulations. A tripartite agreement was also signed by Secretary-General of the Saudi Football Federation (SAFF) Ibrahim Al-Qassim, CEO of the Saudi Pro League Omar Mugharbel, and Chief Business Officer at stc Group Eng. Riyadh Muawad. The agreement outlines areas of cooperation in digital transformation and the development of technical infrastructure for Saudi football competitions. These initiatives contribute to achieving added economic value by diversifying income sources and expanding the range of services linked to the sector, thereby strengthening the position of sports as a promising investment pathway in line with national ambitions to make the Kingdom a global sports destination.
