Shrawan Mahotsav celeebrated at PU, MMC
Patna: City-based Magadh Mahila College (MMC) and the PG department of philosophy, Patna University, students celebrated Sawan Mahotsav with gaiety and enthusiasm here on Saturday. At the MMC, the campus came alive with colour, rhythm, and festive spirit as the celebrations included beautifully organised mehendi and dance competitions in which a large number of students participated. College principal N P Verma presided over the event. The results of both the mehendi and dance competitions were declared by the panel of judges, followed by loud cheers and celebration from the crowd. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the assistant general secretary, expressing gratitude to the participants, faculty, audience, and organising team for making the event a grand success. Meanwhile, the PG department of philosophy, Patna University, organised inter departmental mehendi competition on Saturday to celebrate Sawan Mahotsava. About 20 participants from different departments, Hindi, Sanskrit, English, Philosophy, Persian, Urdu participated in the event. Dance, ramp walk mark ‘Sawan Mahotsav'
1 2 Patna: The Mahila Manch of the Chitragupt Puja Samiti organised a grand celebration of 'Sawan Mahotsav' with great enthusiasm and cultural flair at Anisabad here in Patna. Over 40 women, dressed in traditional green attire symbolising the essence of Sawan, participated in the festivities, which featured a variety of engaging activities and competitions. From lively dance performances and melodious songs to a graceful ramp walk and an intellectually stimulating quiz, the event kept the packed audience thoroughly entertained throughout the Friday evening. Mitra Mandal colony resident Daisy Bhatnagar won hearts with her poise and charm, earning her the title of 'Sawan Queen' while Vinita Saran was declared the runner-up. The winners were chosen by a distinguished panel of women judges led by Nita Nath, who praised the participants and encouraged women to continue engaging in such events as a way to contribute to community development and upliftment. Mahila Manch president Usha Saran and secretary Usha Bhushan warmly welcomed the guests and participants, emphasising the importance of cultural unity and active community involvement. The function was anchored by Rashmi, who ensured the programme flowed seamlessly. "The celebration served not only as a tribute to tradition and festivity but also as a strong reminder of the pivotal role women play in nurturing cultural values and fostering social harmony, Nath said.
