Posh is out of town for work, but Geri has turned down the invitation. An insider spilled: 'Mel's throwing a huge party in Leeds for her 50th. It's also her fiance's birthday today so it's a joint celebration and will be a real family affair. "But Geri and Posh can't make it. Posh had a work commitment she couldn't get out of. "It's a bit awkward given the reunion excitement." The Sun has contacted their reps for comment. The snub comes just days after we revealed plans for the group to reunite as Avatars, following in the footsteps of pop legends Abba. It would see holograms of Geri, Mels B and C, Emma Bunton and Victoria playing their biggest hits. Victoria, who was not part of their 2019 tour, was said to have suggested she would agree if the others did. A source added: 'Their former manager Simon Fuller is desperate to have one last hurrah with the Spice Girls and this is his latest idea. Mel B drops biggest clue yet that Spice Girls are reuniting with cryptic comment on Instagram "He was the person who came up with the original idea for Abba and their digital show and he thinks this model could work perfectly for the group. Mel B is due to marry Rory McPhee, 38, later this year. It comes as Geri and Mel suffered a "frosty reunion" at Victoria's birthday last year. Geri and Mel are said to have kept their distance at Oswald's private members' club in Mayfair at the star-studded bash. A source said of the stars, who had a second No1 in 1996 with Say You'll Be There: 'Mel tried to smooth things over with Geri at the party but it didn't go as planned. "She was laughing it all off but Geri didn't seem interested in hearing what she had to say and wandered off. 'When it came to taking their group picture, Geri kept as far away from Mel as possible which was awkward to watch." Any awkwardness between the group, who split in 2000, seemed to be forgotten by the time they hit the dancefloor — where they performed their 1997 hit Stop. Onlookers told The Sun the five also sat down at a table together and talked during the evening. 6 Geri Horner and Mel B had a frosty reunion at Victoria Beckham's 50th birthday bash last year

Spice Girls inch closer to reunion tour ahead of 30th anniversary, but Posh Spice may just sit this one out!

If you danced and bopped to their songs, how's your back and knees? Image: Spice Girls/Facebook Spice Girls are inching closer to a reunion tour to mark their 30th anniversary - but Victoria Beckham is said to have "pretty much ruled herself out". There has been plenty of speculation about the band - Emma Bunton, Mel B, Mel C, Geri Halliwell-Horner, and Victoria - coming together again for a world tour next year, when their debut single 'Wannabe' turns 30 years old. Spice Girls star Geri is expected to meet the group's former manager Simon Fuller in Miami later this week, when both are in the Magic City for the Miami Grand Prix. A source told The Sun newspaper: "There have been rumours swirling for months, but Geri has always been too busy and had other things on, preventing her from saying Yes. "Nothing is yet confirmed but Geri and Simon are back in touch with a myriad of exciting ideas. "If Simon were to get involved, this would absolutely take any tour to the next level." "She would always want to honour the girls' history." Mel C recently hinted that the group could head out on a world tour for Wannabe's 30th anniversary. In March, she told Australia's 2Day FM: "We have to do something special. "Obviously I can't say too much but we are talking about things. Hopefully a nice little world tour!" Geri, Emma, Mel B and Mel C came together to support Victoria at her 50th birthday party, and the quintet couldn't resist a rendition of the 1997 song. If the '2 Become 1' hitmakers go on tour without Victoria, it won't be the first time they have hit the road Posh Spice-less. Spice Girls played at 13 sold-out stadium shows in the UK and Ireland in 2019, but Victoria didn't reunite with the group. Spice Girls rumoured to reunite - but there's a major catch

It has been rumoured that the Spice Girls is reunited (Picture: Getty Images) It has been reported that the Spice Girls are set to reunite and are currently secretly planning a world tour. Geri Horner, Mel B, Mel C, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham first got together 31 years ago and formed one of the most iconic girl groups of the 90s. With hits including Wannabe, Spice Up Your Life, Say You'll Be There, and Who Do You Think You Are, the group dominated the charts until their devastating split in 2000. Over the years, the group has reunited, and it has now been reported that the band is getting back together in the coming months. 'There have been rumours swirling for months, but Geri has always been too busy and had other things on, preventing her from saying Yes,' a source told The Sun. 'Nothing is yet confirmed but Geri and Simon are back in touch with a myriad of exciting ideas,' the source added, referring to Simon Fuller, the band's manage,r who is reportedly meeting with Geri later this week. The band consists of Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Victoria Beckham, and Geri Horner (Picture: JMEnternational) While the news is exciting, there is a major catch as Victoria is reportedly '90% out of the running' and will not be returning. 'Unfortunately, Victoria has pretty much ruled herself out, but there is still a world in which she could do some sort of avatar appearance or a special one-off thing. 'She would always want to honour the girls' history,' the source said. The girls have all reunited before (Picture: Barbara Davidson/Los Angeles Times via Getty Images) The group last reunited in 2019 and sold out 13 stadium tours in the UK and Ireland, reportedly pocketing around £4.4 million each. The 2019 tour did not include Posh, but she did join the girls for a one-off performance at the London 2012 summer Olympics closing ceremony. In 2007, the fivesome reunited for The Return of the Spice Girls Tour which consisted of 47 shows and ran from December 2007 to February 2008. The women emulated 'girl power' and feminism (Picture: Shutterstock) Scoring nine number ones between 1996 and 2000 (including six number ones in a row), the Spice Girls became one of the biggest-selling pop acts of all time. In 1998, Geri (aka Ginger Spice) left the group citing exhaustion, and just two years after her departure the quintet announced that they were splitting. In March this year, Geri told The Sunday Times that 'there will be something' coming. 'We love each other. I love them, I care about them, and we want the best for each other. We shared something so monumental. We've always believed in each other, had trust in each other, which is beautiful.' She then teased that 'there will be something' coming in the future from the girl group. 'My hope is we come back together as a collective. It's more respectful to come as one, so we'll come as one,' adding that the five of them do have a WhatsApp group chat. Geri's comments come hot on the heels of Mel C saying she's ready for a Spice Girls reunion in the near future, adding: 'We now are getting together because we know if we're going to do anything, we have to start planning.' 'We have to start making the plans right now and putting them into action. So fingers crossed. I think me and Mel B are probably going to be going in there all guns blazing.' Got a story?
