Avengers: Doomsday ‘Set Leak' Videos Are Our New, Inescapable AI Reality

Avengers Doomsday A video was quickly spread around social media over the past 24 hours, racking up 7 million views at the time of this writing, as everyone scrambled to see what were purported to be set leaks from the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, currently shooting in a number of regions. The video was full of surprises, Robert Downey Jr. in his Doctor Doom costume. The unannounced appearances of Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch and Deadpool. Big reveals! It's fake. Of course it's fake. It's AI. But it's AI which shows how much the tech is spiraling into something almost unstoppable. It's true, if you pause the video you can no doubt parse that it's AI. Some parts are more clear than others, like a Thor that looks like Heath Ledger or a Scarlet Witch that looks like Taylor Swift, but if you just flipped through this quickly, you can see how it can 'pass' on first glance, at least recreating the look and feel of set leak videos in a way I've simply never seen faked before. It was eventually community-noted as AI, but not before it had at least 5 million views or so. Throw this on Facebook (which I'm sure has happened already), and I bet you'd convinced 95% of users there it was legitimate. It's funny, the first way I saw this debunked wasn't because of glitched hands or odd faces, but rather no one believed that Marvel would actually use a practical suit for Iron Man at this point, as that armor has long been CGI with Robert Downey Jr. walking around in a mo-cap suit. FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder This video quote tweets a set shot that appears to have spawned the entire idea, bringing the still to life in at least one scene and I…I'm not even sure whether that one is an AI image or not (it says it isn't, which is clearly trustworthy!). It is. I think it is. I need to do some more zooming in. SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA - JULY 27: Robert Downey Jr. speaks onstage at the Marvel Studios Panel during ... More 2024 Comic-Con International at San Diego Convention Center on July 27, 2024 in San Diego, California. (Photo by) But that's the point, isn't it? In only a few years, we keep getting to new levels of this tech that you have to pause and zoom and scrutinize to prove whether or not it's AI. This video here would not have been remotely possible a year ago. What happens in a year from now? No more Taylor Swift or Heath Ledger faces, I imagine. I don't think this was actually trying to be a serious leak. I mean, throwing Deadpool, Spider-Man and Scarlet Witch in there is kind of a goof. But this was made in a day after the other leaked ('leaked') set shot was being passed around. Is this kind of silly? It is, once you break it down and see the obvious changes. But expect to see this kind of thing happen more and more in the leak space and become more and more convincing as a result. The next few years are going to be unsettling. When are the new skins for Adam Warlock and Scarlet Witch coming to Marvel Rivals?

Image via NetEase Games. Those who have been waiting for some new skins of Adam Warlock and Scarlet Witch in Marvel Rivals now have good news. NetEase Games has recently revealed these highly anticipated skins. This popular hero-shooter is in its Season 2 with lots of new content already added. The most talked about aspect of the current season has to be the Chrono Shield Card, which divided the community into two parts. However, the announcement of these two skins is surely going to make the days better for all the Marvel Rivals fans. Marvel Rivals announces Adam Warlock and Scarlet Witch skins This is the new Adam Warlock skin in Marvel Rivals. | Image via NetEase Games. NetEase Games has recently announced via Twitter that new skins of Adam Warlock and Scarlet Witch will be dropping soon in the game. The exciting aspect of both the skins is that these two new skins are not typical ones, which we have generally seen for these two superheroes. The upcoming skin of Adam Warlock is called Immortal Avatar, which features a dark long cape and coat around Warlock. Also, there are two dragons over the character's shoulders which gives him a more aggressive vibe. Warlock's previous skins are more inclined towards golden touch, so this new skin is definitely a breather of fresh air for the fans. Same goes for Scarlet Witch as well. Her upcoming skin named Immortal Avatar steers away from his usual all-reddish skins, with a touch of golden wave in her dress. Her hair in this skin is also golden, which we haven't seen in any of her previous cosmetics. She also wields a red and golden waist girdle with a red crystal in the center of that. This new skin gives this character a more noir mystic look. NetEase Games have stated that both these skins will be available in the game's shop from May 22 at 7 PM PDT. However, the development company is yet to reveal the prices of the respective skins. Interested players can head on to the Store tab in the game on the previously mentioned date and look in the Featured section for these two skins, and from there they can buy those. Magneto's Daughter has been Cast in Avengers: Doomsday

Anyone who is updated in their Marvel comic lore knows that Magneto had children, and while Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver have been in the spotlight since Age of Ultron , there is one other offspring of Erik Magnus that may actually appear in Avengers: Doomsday . According to @AlexFromCC (via @cosmic_marvel) Polaris is going to be appearing Doomsday , and she's going to be played by Neve Campbell ( Scream franchise). No details have been revealed about the size of her role, but it's possible that she could be the daughter of Ian McKellen's Magneto—who has been confirmed for the movie already. In the comics, Polaris is the only child of Magneto to actually have his magnetic powers. She has been a member of the X-Men and X-Factor, and she has a kind of on-and-off relationship with Alex Summers a.k.a. Havok. Polaris has had appearances in animated X-Men media, but she had a live-action appearance in The Gifted where she was played by Emma Dumont. We don't know how Polaris will be tackled in Doomsday , but it's possible that she could be one of the more seasoned X-Men, counting Campbell's age and relationship with an existing character. Though there are a lot of legacy characters in Doomsday like Nightcrawler and Mystique, I am hopeful that we could see some other characters be able to shine. I have always been against the nostalgia-baiting angle that Marvel has been going through recently, but if they're going all-in with these Avengers movies, they may as well go crazy. Avengers: Doomsday is expected to hit theaters on May 1, 2026.

Marvel Rivals Season 2 rank reset and competitive mode explained

Marvel Rivals' highly anticipated Season 2, named Hellfire Gala, has begun, enthralling players with a stunning assortment of new content. The season introduces Emma Frost, the diamond-clad X-Men vanguard, as well as a new Domination map set in the opulent Krakoa. NetEase Games has released a vivid Battle Pass with 10 new outfits, including free skins like Scarlet Witch's Chaos Gown, which can be unlocked through gameplay. The Cerebro Database event and improved Team-Up abilities add to the experience by shaking up strategy and meta dynamics. Season 2 promises to keep the hero shooter's momentum going, especially with Ultron on the way. Despite the excitement, competitive players have also seen some big changes that have spurred fierce debate within the community. Following the roster additions of The Thing and Human Torch in Season 1.5, NetEase is focusing on improving the ranked experience even further. The developer's ambition to balance ranked lobbies has resulted in radical changes that address comments from Season 1's skipped mid-season reset. As the competitive scene advances, the stakes become increasingly high, paving the way for a modified ladder. Here are all the changes made in Marvel Rivals' competitive mode in Season 2. Everything new and changes in Marvel Rivals competitive mode in Season 2 Marvel Rivals' Season 2 introduced sweeping changes to its competitive mode, aiming to refine matchmaking, enhance strategic depth, and reward player dedication. Rank Reset Season 2 brought a massive rank reset, lowering all players by nine divisions based on their Season 1.5 rankings. For example, a Diamond I player now starts at Silver I, while those below Gold II are demoted to Bronze III. This reset, the first big one since Season 1's mid-season reset was canceled due to backlash, seeks to redistribute players for more equitable matchmaking. NetEase believes this fosters skill-based growth, but some lower-ranked players are dreading the trek back to higher ranks. The reset coincides with new content, such as Emma Frost's addition, to renew the competitive meta. Read More Wordle Today (#629): Wordle answer and hints for March 10 NetEase Games New Rank Restrictions added To ensure balanced matchups, Season 2 tightened rank limitations. The minimum level required to enable competitive mode has been increased from 10 to 15, guaranteeing that players have adequate game understanding. Hero pick-and-ban phases, which were previously limited to Diamond III and higher, now begin at Gold III, allowing more players to engage in strategic bans. At the top, the Eternity and One Above All rankings are restricted to solo or duo queues, limiting predefined team advantages. Players from Gold I to Celestial I can only queue with others in three categories, whereas Eternity players can join up with Celestial II players within 200 points. These limits are intended to improve fairness, but they have frustrated some high-ranking players wanting flexibility. Competitive map rotation added Season 2 added a competitive map rotation, limiting the pool to four maps for ranked play and esports tournaments. The new Hellfire Gala: Krakoa map, commemorating Emma Frost's debut, has joined the rotation, while Yggsgard: Royal Palace and Tokyo 2099: Shin-Shibuya have been removed. This update is intended to streamline strategy, but it has been criticized for diminishing variation, with some players claiming it makes ranked feel repetitive. Quick Play and Custom Games preserve all maps, giving you access to the whole roster. The rotation may change again in Season 2.5, possibly returning retired maps. New Ranked skin and rewards The ranked rewards in Season 2 encourage players to work their way up the ladder. Gold III and above players gain access to the Golden Diamond Emma Frost costume, while Grandmaster III grants the Grandmaster Crest of Honor. Celestial III players receive the Celestial Crest and Eternity or One Above. Every player is given a combined Crest. The special Top 500 Crest of Honor is awarded at the end of the season to the top 500 players. Rewards are based on the highest rank earned, with a minimum of 10 competitive matches required to claim. These cosmetics, which cannot be purchased in the shop, provide prestige, although some players are concerned about their exclusivity vs accessibility.
