The annual visit from NASCAR and its teams to Watkins Glen International is once again in August after the 2024 race was held in September as part of the Cup Series playoffs. Schedule, TV information and other things to know about Go Bowling at The Glen weekend, set for Aug. 8-10 at the Schuyler County road course, which has been a regular stop for NASCAR since 1986. Friday, Aug. 8 Schedule 10-10:45 a.m.: ARCA Menards Series practice. 11-11:20 a.m.: ARCA Menards Series qualifying. 11:35 a.m.-12:25 p.m.: NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series practice. 12:40-1:30 p.m.: Truck Series qualifying. 2 p.m.: Menards Series race, General Tire 100 at The Glen (41 laps, 100.45 miles). 5 p.m.: NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race, Mission 176 at The Glen (72 laps, 176.4 miles). 7:45 p.m.: Historic Sportscar Racing NASCAR Classic practice/qualifying. Saturday, Aug. 9 Schedule 8:45 a.m.: Historic Sportscar Racing NASCAR Classic race (20 minutes). 9:30-10:20 a.m.: NASCAR Xfinity Series practice. 10:35-11:30 a.m.: Xfinity Series qualifying. 12:05-12:55 p.m.: NASCAR Cup Series practice. 1:10-2 p.m.: Cup Series qualifying. 3 p.m.: Xfinity Series race, Mission 200 at The Glen (82 laps, 200.9 miles). 6:45 p.m.: Historic Sportscar Racing NASCAR Classic race (20 minutes). Saturday's Mission 200 at The Glen Xfinity Series race will be televised on the CW Network. Friday's Craftsman Truck Series race will be televised on FS1. Alert: Flash Flood Warning for Chemung and Schuyler Counties
The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Chemung and SE Schuyler County until 3:30AM. * At 1230 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain has already fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. * HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. * IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Elmira, West Elmira, Southport, Big Flats, Horseheads, Elmira Heights, Erin, Cayuta, Van Etten, Breesport, Horseheads North, Pine City, Mark Twain State Park, Newtown Battlefield State Park, Fisherville, Tompkins Corners, Swartwood, Webb Mills, Seely Creek and Sagetown.
