Man killed in rollover crash in Rush Twp.
The Schuylkill County Coroner's office was called out to a two-vehicle fatal crash on Pine Creek Drive in Rush Twp. Friday morning.
The accident involving a rollover happened at 641 Pine Creek Drive at 11:50 a.m., a supervisor with the Schuylkill County Communications Center confirmed.
A coroner's deputy pronounced a male driver deceased at the scene, said Schuylkill County Coroner David Moylan III. The victim was the only occupant of the vehicle, Moylan said.
A postmortem scan will be done at the Schuylkill County Forensic Center, New Philadelphia, at the center's earliest convenience.
Two vehicles were involved, Moylan said. As of 3 p.m. Friday, emergency personnel were still working at the scene.
The accident closed Route 54 in both directions for most of the day, and a detour was put in place.
At press time, a Facebook post from the Schuylkill County Office of Emergency Management and Local Emergency Planning Committee said Route 54 was closed in both directions between Marian Avenue and Fairview Street.
