How Great Was Gen. Patton?
Gen. George Patton is considered to have been a fine soldier and leader (Letters, June 6). My father, who received a Purple Heart and a Silver Star in World War II and fought under Patton in the Battle of the Bulge, thought otherwise. 'They called him Old Blood and Guts,' my father said. 'It was our blood and his guts.'
