Ayrshire bars in running for Sunday Mail Pub of the Year award
Three Ayrshire bars will fly the flag for the county in the top category.
Three Ayrshire bars are in the running to land a prestigious Scottish title.
Ayr's Smoking Goat, Vic's in Prestwick and The Weston in Kilmarus are among those doing battle for Pub of the Year.
The prize, sponsored by the Sunday Mail, will be handed out at this year's Scottish Bar & Pub Awards.
A total of 12 hostelries across the country have made the shortlist, which was voted for by the public and scrutinised by independent judges.
A string of undercover visits have taken place across the nation to whittle down the very best in the business.
All three Ayrshire venues are no stranger to award wins and will now look to land one of the most coveted prizes in the industry at an Oscar-themed ceremony in Glasgow on August 26.
There will also be a host of other categories hotly contested on the night, from cocktails to beer gardens.
Susan Young, editor of hospitality industry bible DRAM, said: "All of these pubs are top notch but there can be only one winner of the Sunday Mail mirror. Our judges will have their work cut out."
