Ex-Celtic title winning manager Ange Postecoglou is set to be sacked from his role as Tottenham Hotspur boss just 11 days on from helping the club win their first trophy in 17 years, according to a new report. The popular Australian head coach spent two trophy-laden seasons at Celtic Park, leading the club to two Scottish Premiership titles, two Scottish League Cups and a Scottish Cup before leaving for the North London club in the summer of 2023, replacing Antonio Conte in the Spurs dugout following a brief interim period with Ryan Mason as caretaker manager. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad The 59-year-old endured a difficult domestic campaign at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this year, finishing the English Premier League season in 17th place, but was able to end the club's 17-year wait for a trophy last month when he guided them to a 1-0 win over Manchester United in the Europa League final in Bilbao thanks to a first-half goal from Brennan Johnson. Former Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart is congratulated by ex-boss Ange Postecoglou during the pairs time together at Celtic Park. Cr: SNS Group. | SNS Group Asked if he would like to continue his project at Spurs, Postecoglou said: 'I've had such a laser focus on winning this [Europa League]. Whatever happens, happens. We are still building this team, it is still very young, we need to add experience. My thought process has been trying to build a team that can be successful for a long time, but I am manager, it is not in my hands but it doesn't affect me, if it did you would have seen it.' A report from journalist Miguel Delaney claimed it was looking very likely that the Aussie boss will be sacked by the club. While he cited the Tottenham Hotspur hierarchy hadn't made an official decision on Postecoglou as of Friday, his chances of staying at the club had fallen below five percent in the last few days, with his departure from Spurs expected at some point. However, it looks as if Levy has now came to a conclusion over the future of the ex-Hoops boss after a report on Sunday claimed they had to decided to sack Postecoglou, with Spurs ready to 'formally announce' his departure in the coming days as they 'press ahead with finding a new manager.'

Hibs striker Lia Tweedie to leave the Club this summer.

Hibs striker Lia Tweedie will leave the Club this summer. The 27-year-old amassed 124 appearances and scored 47 goals in Green and White across two spells. Tweedie joined the Hibs Girls Academy aged 11 in 2009. At 16 years old, she scored on her senior debut in a 9-1 victory over Buchan on 18 May 2014. After a brief spell away from Leith, the forward returned to Hibernian Women in August 2022. Over two stints at Hibs, the forward won seven trophies in total – including two Scottish Cups and four Scottish League Cups. The striker has netted a number of hat-tricks in Hibs colours, including in key victories over Rangers, Motherwell and Forfar Farmington, and reached a century of appearances for the Club in April 2023. Tweedie was also fond of a crucial Derby Day goal against Hearts, with none more memorable than her unforgettable long-range volley during the 2023/24 campaign – which was subsequently voted as the Club's Goal of the Season. She leaves on a high after earning a first league winners' medal with the Club – with the forward coming on as a late substitute at Ibrox as Hibs defeated Rangers to secure the SWPL title. On Lia's departure, Hibs Women head coach Grant Scott said: 'I want to thank Lia for her outstanding contribution to Hibernian. She is a great person who has deservedly picked up plenty of winners' medals with the Club. 'From coming through the Hibs Academy to performing on the European stage and winning silverware, Lia has always remained a fantastic servant to this Club and will be a big loss to the group – both on and off the pitch. 'I wish Lia the best of luck with what comes next for her in her career.' A Club spokesperson said: 'Everybody at Hibernian FC wishes all the best to Lia and thank her for all her contributions throughout her time at the Club.' Like this: Like Related

Ecstatic supporters wildly celebrated and threw gifts up to acknowledge their heroes after they clinched the title following a 2-0 win over Cagliari on Friday night. McTominay is wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses and can be seen at the top of the bus with the rest of his team-mates. He delights punters below by raising the bottle and taking a swig before passing it back to fans, with the supporters chanting 'Scott, Scott, Scott'. The 28-year-old has lit up Serie A, grabbing 12 goals including a stunning scissor kick against Cagliari on Friday. And after the sealing the title, McTominay capped off a remarkable a first season in Italy by being named the league's Most Valuable Player. International team-mate Billy Gilmour also started in the title-winning victory on Friday and has played an important role in Napoli's success. Meanwhile, former Rangers defender Lorenzo Amoruso has revealed what he believes has helped lead to McTominay flourishing at the Partenopei. Amoruso, who played more than 150 times for the Gers after signing from Fiorentina in a £4million deal in 1997, is now a football commentator in Italy. He was the skipper at Ibrox and won three league titles, three Scottish Cup and three Scottish League Cups during his six-year spell at Ibrox. The 53-year-old was full of praise for the former Manchester United midfielder, but believes the departure of one of Napoli's top stars gave him the freedom to play. Georgian ace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia left Naples in January and joined Paris Saint-Germain after failing to agree a contract extension. Amoruso told Radio Goal on Kiss Kiss Napoli: "McTominay's season rating cannot go below 8. 'Only thing not erupting is Mount Vesuvius' - Fans can't believe how Napoli have been celebrating Serie A title "McTominay's most important part came when Kvaratskhelia was sold. "I don't know if that area of the pitch would have been McTominay's with the Georgian. "After Kvaratskhelia's departure, the Scotsman found more space, the Georgian closed his runs. Every cloud has a silver lining." Amoruso believes the development in McTominay is largely down to the influence of manager Antonio Conte who could leave the club according to reports in Italy. He added: "Those who don't follow Napoli only see McTominay's 12 goals, but the player must be evaluated in the possession phase, in the non-possession phase and in the defensive phase. "At the beginning, McTominay didn't often score, but he was always there in the penalty area, he always arrived at the right time. "Let's not forget that McTominay was criticised at Manchester United, it wasn't easy for him to arrive in Italy and do so well. "Conte worked hard on him."
