Hamilton stonemason in running to be crowned the UKs top tradesperson
A stonemason is in the running to be crowned the UK and Ireland's top tradesperson. Scott Reid, 35, from Hamilton, has reached the semi-finals of Screwfix's Top Tradesperson competition. The contest is open to tradespeople across the UK and Ireland and aims to showcase the skill, professionalism and impact of those working in the industry. He said: 'When I heard that I had been successful in getting to the semi-final stage of the Screwfix Top Tradesperson competition I was shocked. 'It's an honour to compete against such talented individuals, and I'm excited to share my story with the judges. 'I'm passionate about stonemasonry and look forward to showcasing my skills.' At the semi-finals, Scott will present his skills and story to a panel of judges from Screwfix, competing against more than 40 other tradespeople. Only ten finalists will advance to the national final, which will take place at Screwfix Live in September.
