ROP wins Arab Digital Economy Award for ‘Bayan' customs system
Muscat – The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has been awarded the Arab Digital Economy Award 2025 in the government innovation category for its advanced electronic customs system, Bayan . The award was presented during the opening day of the Digital Economy Conference and Exhibition – Seamless Middle East 2025 – on May 20, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event was held under the patronage of Sheikh Saif bin Zayed al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the United Arab Emirates. Brigadier Said bin Khamis al Ghithi, Director General of Customs, and Colonel Abdullah Said al Kalbani, Director General of Information Technology, received the award on behalf of the ROP. The Arab Digital Economy Award recognises individuals, institutions, and initiatives that contribute meaningfully to the development of the digital economy, the advancement of technical solutions, and the implementation of smart transformation strategies aligned with international standards and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
