Amitabh Bachchan channels Vijay from Agneepath as he announces new season of Kaun Banega Crorepati, watch promo
At any given point in time several hundred shows keep revolving in the Indian television sphere, and ever since the year 2000, Kaun Banega Crorepati has been the constant leader among all those. Sony has just announced that the legendary quiz show is returning with a brand new season, and Amitabh Bachchan is all set to pose the toughest questions of all to whoever dares to sit on the hot seat. The channel announced the new season with a playful ad, where we see Big B take inspiration from one of his most iconic characters. The announcement video begins with a rich and pompous man scolding a door-to-door salesman for seemingly ruining his 'imported from London' carpet. As the man continues his onslaught on the guy, the salesman has finally had enough and decides to impart some knowledge. He tells the rich man about the fiber used in his carpet and its anti-dust capabilities, hence no harm and no foul. He leaves after he gives him some petty cash for his throat, which might need some tending to after all that screaming. Bachchan then enters the frame and says, 'Jaha akal hai, waha akad hai (Where there is wisdom, there is confidence).' He says, '11 August se appointment hai apna, kya bolta hai? Appointment. English bolta hai.' The stalwart pays homage to one of his most beloved characters, whose dialogues, such as the iconic Agneepath speech, are still fresh in people's minds. Kaun Banega Crorepati started back in 2000, when Amitabh was still recovering from major financial problems. Even though Shah Rukh Khan took the mantle as host for one single season, the megastar quickly returned to the show and has been the host ever since. The new season will premiere on August 11 and will be running on Sony TV from Monday to Friday at 9 pm.

‘It's Always Sunny' Star Charlie Day Didn't Want to Do Rob Mac's ‘Abbott Elementary,' ‘Golden Bachelor' Crossovers
As 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' enters its 17th season after nearly two decades, its team of writers/stars (Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton and Rob Mac) has become a well-oiled machine. They'd have to be to keep one of the longest-running sitcoms of all time on the rails – but that doesn't mean they always see eye-to-eye. 'Sunny's' double crossover with 'Abbott Elementary' and 'The Golden Bachelor' was one of these times. Former Clinton Adviser Calls Gen Z 'Useful Idiot Generation' for Support of Mamdani, Socialism | Video 'Ballard' Cast and Character Guide: Who's Who in the 'Bosch' Spinoff? In a joint interview with Danny DeVito for the LA Times, Charlie Day talked about the two big crossovers included in Season 17. While Rob Mac (neé Rob McElhenney) was a significant proponent of the crossovers, Day initially struggled to get on board. 'Rob has these really big ideas, like buying a soccer team,' Day joked in the interview. 'He wanted to do this 'Abbott' crossover, and he wanted to do this 'Golden Bachelor' episode. To be perfectly frank, I didn't really want to do both. I think you can do one or the other. The 'Golden Bachelor' thing I thought was funny, but I was like, maybe we could just do the 'Sunny' characters' version of it. But to his credit, those are the things that people latch onto and are talking about.' The 17th season of 'Always Sunny' opens with the second half of a crossover they began this year on 'Abbott Elementary.' The first episode, which aired in January, saw the 'Abbott' crew react to the 'Sunny' gang as court-mandated volunteers at the school. By 'Sunny' standards, the group's antics were relatively tame, with Glenn Howerton's sociopathic Dennis Reynolds almost entirely absent from the episode. The 'Always Sunny' half of the crossover, titled 'The Gang F***s Up Abbott Elementary,' airs Wednesday as part of a two-episode premiere — and will likely be a bit less calm. According to the LA Times interview, the gang will have their crossover with 'The Golden Bachelor' in the season finale of 'Always Sunny.' A trailer for the show's 17th season showed glimpses of this episode, in which Frank joins 'The Golden Bachelor' in a quest to find his own Hawk Tuah analog, here named 'Cock Chewa.' Her catchphrase? 'Chew on that thang!' You can watch the Season 17 trailer below. 'I had no idea what they had in mind at first because I must admit, I'm not a 'Golden Bachelor' watcher,' DeVito said in the interview. 'Once I got there and figured out what they had up their sleeve, I just went with it big time. Being Frank is really wonderful, I must say. It gives you the opportunity to do a lot of things that you wouldn't. And they push the envelope and come up with all these crazy things, and I go along with it, and from the time my feet hit the ground, when I get there, I'm smiling.' Day noted that these kinds of riffs are not his favorite aspect of 'Always Sunny.' Two crossovers, he said, was more than he intended to have in a single season. Mac disagreed. 'I tend to like when we're not doing the pop culture references as much, but then we have a big back-and-forth and we argue,' Day said. 'And then when we land on it, the second we agree to do it, then I'm always all-in, as is Rob. So then we're both writing together and saying, well, what's the best version of how to do this?' But with a seasoned comic actor like DeVito in the cast, however, Day said it's easier to make ideas like this work. 'Rob and Glenn and I spend weeks and months really digging in and arguing and pushing each other out of our comfort zones in all sorts of directions. And then towards the end, we're all invested in the same thing. And what really makes it work is that Danny comes in and gives it a hundred percent,' Day said. 'Really, if Danny wasn't so supportive, it would be really challenging. But pretty much everything we bring to you, Danny, you say, 'OK, I'm going to make this work.' 'Golden Bachelor' was a perfect example. We had a lot of arguments about how to do that, whether to do it. And then once we committed to it and tried to write what we thought was the best version of it we could, Dan, you come in and just sell it in a way that it needs to be sold.' 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' Season 17 premieres July 9 on FXX and will be available to stream on Hulu. The trailer has already stirred excitement across social media, with fans speculating that Frank Reynolds, DeVito's iconic character, is set to take centre stage this season. 'From the looks of it, I think Frank is going to dominate this season,' wrote one fan on social media (formerly Twitter). Remembering Late Lynne Marie Stewart Amid the excitement, fans are also mourning the loss of Lynne Marie Stewart, who portrayed Charlie's peculiar and endearing mother, Bonnie Kelly. ‘It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' Season 17 Trailer Teases ‘Abbott Elementary,' ‘Golden Bachelor' Crossovers
'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' is back for Season 17 and the trailer is promising all manner of insanity. As previously announced, the new season of the hit comedy will feature the crossover with 'Abbott Elementary' from the gang's perspective, while the trailer also reveals that Frank (Danny DeVito) will star in a new season of 'The Golden Bachelor.' Season 17 will premiere on July 9 on FXX and stream the next day on Hulu. The official description for Season 17 states 'Ronald 'Mac' MacDonald (Rob McElhenney), Charlie Kelly (Charlie Day), Dennis Reynolds (Glenn Howerton), Dee Reynolds (Kaitlin Olson), and Frank Reynolds (DeVito) return to shamelessly shed their 'niche' label for grander aspirations. They'll exploit cross-network promotion to increase market share; they'll scapegoat one of their own to avoid a PR backlash; they'll risk everything for a handshake with the Saudis; they'll bend the laws with side hustles to pad their pockets and they'll change everything about themselves to appeal to a broader audience.' 'And sure, like any corporate goon, the Gang craves money and parasitic social privileges. That's been plain since 2005. But they're also human beings. They crave love.. respect… conditional freedom… constant adulation… histrionic amounts of attention… non-stop gratification… and unfiltered, slaphappy eroticism. In Season 17, they'll chase down them all. And the money. Obviously, the money. They don't want to spend the rest of their lives working like dogs.' Season 17 of 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' is executive produced by creator McElhenney, Day, Howerton, Michael Rotenberg, Nicholas Frenkel, Dave Chernin, John Chernin, Rob Rosell, David Hornsby, Nina Pedrad, and Victor Hsu for FX Productions. Frank Reynolds Is the Next ‘Golden Bachelor' in ‘It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' Season 17 Trailer
The Golden Bachelor finds a new leading man in Frank Reynolds in the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 17 trailer. 'Philadelphia, the birthplace of our nation,' host Jesse Palmer says in the clip. 'Could it be the birthplace of a new love?' Frank likes the idea of this, but he might be a little too eager. 'Oh baby am I boned up,' he says as the first contestant pulls up. Later, he adds: 'Can't wait to find a Grade A, prime cut piece of ass — to love.' The remainder of the trailer is chaos cranked up to the highest setting. There are weird odors, spontaneous fires, references to The Bear being screamed in the back of an ambulance, and everything in between. 'It seemed both not possible, which is always a good sign, and we knew it would confuse people, which is also a really good sign. So we just jumped in,' Rob McElhenney told Rolling Stone about teaming up with Quinta Brunson, who added: 'We wanted to do it because it could be done, and so many people thought it couldn't. And so I think that alone was enough for us to jump in and do it.' The Abbott Elementary episode aired in January, but the new season of It's Always Sunny will take the collaboration out of that family-friendly realm and drop it into the space of a more lawless sitcom. 'Our biggest concern is that people will watch Abbott and think, 'Oh, we like these characters. We like this episode. Let's go check out the other show with the whole family,'' McElhenney said. 'And we're going to caution people against that.' Brunson added: 'I know [the Sunny cast] are not new faces or new talent, but I love showcasing talent to people. But this is the first time I'm gonna be like, 'Actually, don't go watch their show!' Unless you are already a fan of both shows, don't go looking for anything you don't need.'
