Alibi Idiris hopes full camp pays off vs. UFC vet Morales in 'TUF 33' finale

CHICAGO – Alibi Idiris met the media Wednesday ahead of his fight at UFC 319. Idiris (10-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) meets Joseph Morales (12-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) in the Season 33 flyweight final of "The Ultimate Fighter." Their fight takes place on the preliminary card at United Center in Chicago. At media day, Idiris took questions from media members before his "TUF" finale fight. Idiris will have a unique experience heading into his tournament final in that his opponent, Morales, already has three fights in the UFC years ago. But he's not necessarily thinking he'll be at a disadvantage, especially since he got to have a full fight camp instead of just a few days on the show. "We had to fight very frequently. For this one, I got the whole came with my full team, so I feel good," Idiris said at his media day. Check out Idiris' full media day interview in the video above.

'TUF 33' finalist Joseph Morales enjoying process of second debut at UFC 319

CHICAGO – Joseph Morales met the media Wednesday ahead of his fight at UFC 319. Morales (12-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) meets Alibi Idiris (10-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) in the Season 33 flyweight final of "The Ultimate Fighter." Their fight takes place on the preliminary card at United Center in Chicago. At media day, Morales took questions from media members before his "TUF" finale fight. Morales has a pretty distinct advantage as a "TUF" finalist compared to most others before him: He's already been in the UFC. He's done this before, the whole UFC fight week media thing. He knows what it's like. He knows what to expect. His opponent, perhaps not so much. Morales had a 1-2 stint in the UFC in 2017-2018 – including a $50,000 bonus for his win over Roberto Sanchez. After a couple wins for Cage Warriors and Urijah Faber's promotion, where he won the flyweight title in his lone appearance, he had a two-year layoff before he taped the show. "I feel like I never left," Morales told MMA Junkie and other reporters at media day. "Everyone keeps saying I'm making my debut. Can you have two debuts? How does that work? It feels like a continuation from the first run, but it also feels like a new path of it. I get to prove myself in a different way this time. "I'm excited to be back. I think the biggest thing I can take from this time compared to last time is I'm enjoying this whole a lot more – enjoying the media, enjoying the photo shoot, the whole process. I feel like it's a bigger deal. It's more important – the little things are more important this time." Check out Morales' full media day interview in the video above.

Daniil Donchenko tried to replicate 'TUF 33' house experience for UFC 319 final

CHICAGO – Daniil Donchenko met the media Wednesday ahead of his fight at UFC 319. Donchenko (11-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) meets Rodrigo Sezinando (8-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) in the Season 33 welterweight final of "The Ultimate Fighter." Their fight takes place on the preliminary card at United Center in Chicago. At media day, Donchenko took questions from media members before his "TUF" finale fight. The 24-year-old Ukrainian fighter said he's trying to replicate his experience in the house now that fight week has arrived – so he didn't get the full experience of having everyone hit him up once the MMA world knew he was a "TUF" finalist. "I deleted my Instagram for fight week," Donchenko told MMA Junkie on Wednesday at his media day. "I tried to put myself to the position I was in the house – without phone, without (everything). It was the best time. You could stay with yourself. (I was) in the best shape. I tried to keep it (like that for fight week)." Check out Donchenko's full media day interview in the video above.

Rodrigo Sezinando: Hard 'TUF 33' experience got appetite sharpened up for UFC 319

CHICAGO – Rodrigo Sezinando met the media Wednesday ahead of his fight at UFC 319. Sezinando (8-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) meets Daniil Donchenko (11-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) in the Season 33 welterweight final of "The Ultimate Fighter." Their fight takes place on the preliminary card at United Center in Chicago. At media day, Sezinando took questions from media members before his "TUF" finale fight. Sezinando said taping the show earlier this year made it hard for him to keep things secret that he had reached the finals of the tournament ahead of the show's broadcast. But he said the experience on the show hardened him up for his upcoming experience in the UFC. "I definitely loved spending the whole month there. It's definitely tough. I did something for the first time in my life – two fights in 13 days, two weight cuts. It was savage for me and really new. I changed a lot about myself and learned a lot about myself. "From Day 1 that I stepped into the house, I knew it was going to be a hard time. But I also knew I'd make new friends, have a good time here and be the last man standing." Sezinando said Donchenko being one of his teammates under coach Daniel Cormier on the show is of no consequence to him. Now that his UFC career is about to start, it's all about business for the Vancouver-based Brazilian. "He's like everyone else in my mind. He's just one more guy in my way, and he's going to be losing at the end of the fight. I'm really secure right now, I'm healthy and I'm ready to be 'The Ultimate Fighter.'" Check out Sezinando's full media day interview in the video above.

‘With the heaviest of hearts': ‘White Lotus' stars Walton Goggins, Carrie Coon, Natasha Rothwell on fatal season finale

Perhaps they were the Romeo and Juliet of this season's The White Lotus. By the time the bullets stopped flying in the season finale of The White Lotus, doomed lovers Rick and Chelsea were among the casualties. More from GoldDerby 'Dancing With the Stars' judge Derek Hough on how Season 33's same-sex dance helped to 'stretch some hearts' 'Severance' cast shares favorite reactions to Season 2 finale: 'Worth the wait' Morgan Wallen's abrupt 'SNL' exit: Get the latest details, including how the show made fun of him the following week Their fate seemed inevitable early in the episode once Chelsea (Aimee Lee Wood) uttered the words "amor fati" (love is fate), which serves as the episode title — signaling that tragedy was in her future. She tried in vain to prevent Rick (Walton Goggins) from seeking revenge: "Stop thinking about the love you didn't get — think about the love you have," she told him, blinking back tears. Goggins took to Instagram after the episode ended to express his gratitude for his costar and their love story. "Rick + Chelsea. With the heaviest of hearts," he wrote, sharing a collection of behind-the-scenes photos from the set. "To me, ours was a love story. It was only ever a love story, hindered by unresolved, childhood trauma... We all have them… but can we move past them. In the depths of our despair there is always beauty around us. If we can sit with our pain, just sit with it… not react… not be defined by it…It's there… the love the world is constantly giving in any given moment is there. Always waiting for us to see it." Among the post's many commenter was costar Patrick Schwarzenegger (Saxon), who wrote simply, "I'm crying." The emotional season finale stirred plenty of emotions from all associated with the show, including the official HBO account, echoing the mourning over the loss of Rick and Chelsea. "I'm not crying, you're crying," read the caption, which accompanied a reel of their reunion earlier in the episode. SEEThe monkey did it! And 5 more wild 'The White Lotus' finale theories The cast — including Carrie Coon, Michelle Monaghan, and Leslie Bibb — shared insider photos from the final days on set. "What a trip!" wrote Coon (Laurie), who earned raves for her scene-stealing turn in the finale, where she made peace with her friends at last. "I just feel like as you get older you have to justify your life, you know, and your choices," Laurie told her friends. "I had this epiphany today. I don't need religion or God to give my life meaning. Because time gives it meaning." ''Today is gone. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one.''" posted Coon on Instagram. "Thanks Mike, and @streamonmax , our fearless crew from Thailand and the world over, and the wild bunch, of course, especially The Ladies @michellemonaghan and @mslesliebibb. What a trip." Natasha Rothwell also expressed her gratitude to the show's writer and director, Mike White — as well as to the character she portrayed. "Thank you, Belinda," she wrote. "Portraying you has been one of the greatest gifts of my life. You gave a voice to quiet strength, to unseen labor, and to the hope we hold in the face of heartbreak. To everyone who saw her (and me) — thank you for seeing us. And to Mike White, thank you for trusting me with the show's heart. ❤️" Here are some more cast farewells from Monaghan, Bibb, and Jason Isaacs.
