‘Survivor 48' star Eva Erickson responds to ‘horrible' online comments about her autism

Eva Erickson is clearing up online comments about her 'Survivor' experience. After coming in second place during Wednesday's Season 48 finale, Erickson insisted that she got to the final three on her own merit, and not because players were afraid to vote her out due to her autism and the potential backlash they'd receive. 'These people respected me as a competitor and anyone who was saying that they were keeping me in the game because I had autism and they were worried about the backlash, they do not understand who I am and who these people are,' the 24-year-old exclusively told The Post. 6 Eva Erickson in her interview with The Post. Page Six 6 Eva Erickson on 'Survivor 48.' CBS 'How dare you say about my competitors that they don't have the respect for me and that I don't have the respect for them to allow that to happen,' Erickson continued. 'Not in a million years. These are amazing people. They respect me.' 'You can see time and time again that people wanted to get me and Joe [Hunter] out of the game. That they wanted me out,' the PhD candidate noted. 'They were coming for us because we were the strong duo and they couldn't do it. I was in this game because I am a good player and I built these social relationships that kept me here. I had strong bonds with a lot of people, great alliances.' 6 Joe Hunter, Eva Erickson and Kyle Fraser in the 'Survivor 48' final three. CBS 6 Kyle Fraser, Eva Erickson and Joe Hunter on 'Survivor 48.' CBS 'So no,' Erickson added, 'I was not being treated differently because I had autism. I was being treated how I am because of the person that I am and what I built in this game. And I think that it is horrible that anyone would say that about my competitors. That they would treat me like that because no, these people are amazing people, strong character, and we all wanted to win.' 'Squelch that. Because no, not in a million years,' she stated. 6 Eva Erickson and Jeff Probst on 'Survivor.' CBS 6 Joe Hunter, Eva Erickson and Kyle Fraser at the final tribal council on 'Survivor' Season 48. CBS On the flip side, Erickson said that the positive fan response to her openness about her autism has been 'amazing.' 'I went into 'Survivor' to play this game and you bring what you live with in your real life into 'Survivor' because it's a reflection of our society and all the unique experiences we have,' she explained. 'And so carrying this into our game and seeing the way that the competitors reacted when they got to hear my story, seeing me and Joe and seeing each of them, the people that I had never met that were on other tribes, how they reacted to my story, seeing Jeff cry. I was like, 'Wow, like, this is big.'' 'And then as this aired on TV — the way that the broad audience, the world, has responded with so much positivity,' Erickson continued. 'People who have autism being like, 'I finally feel confident in myself and understanding that I am great, this isn't something I need to hide and feel bad about.' Autism is a spectrum and so many people have many, many different experiences. I'm just depicting one experience, but so many can connect to little things from what I go through.'

Why Kourtney Kardashian Doesn't Give Her Kids Tylenol, Ibuprofen

Originally appeared on E! Online Kourtney Kardashian isn't keeping up with the norm. The Kardashians star recently shed light on how she reacts when her children are under the weather. (ICYMI, she is mom to kids Mason Disick, 15, Penelope Disick, 12, and Reign Disick, 10, with ex Scott Disick. Plus, she and husband Travis Barker share son Rocky, 18 months. Travis is also dad to Landon Barker, 21, and Alabama Barker, 20, and stepdaughter Atiana De La Hoya, 26.) 'I think living authentically is not conforming, to whatever it is,' she said on the May 21 episode of sister Khloe Kardashian's podcast Khloe in Wonderland. 'I will like nurse the fever of my kids versus giving Tylenol or ibuprofen. I just want to do that.' Her desire to go against the status quo stemmed from the ways their family has functioned over the years. 'Once I started therapy, I kind of started challenging the ways we did things sometimes, the way we all functioned,' Kourtney explained. 'I love to just go against the grain.' More from E! 'I do it with everything,' she said. 'Like the school system, I'll think, 'Why do kids f--king go to school?' Truly, it's so dated.' The 46-year-old added her kids will often send her videos about successful adults who didn't have traditional schooling. 'So, then I'll start thinking, okay what's the goal here?' Kourtney added. 'Want to do home school? Let's do it.' After all, she and Travis are learning as they go. 'I love my role as stepmom, because I don't feel like its up to me to discipline,' Kourtney noted of her dynamic with Travis. 'We've kind of allowed each other to—we'll talk about it, he can handle the harder things. I definitely give advice or try to be a good role model.' She continued, 'Some days I've thought like, 'Wow, this is really hard blending families.' But even in the days that are hard, there's so much more love. It's such a deeper, richer existence.' Shakira Concertgoers Potentially Exposed to Measles Outbreak

Originally appeared on E! Online Measles outbreaks can happen whenever, wherever. The New Jersey Department of Health announced May 20 that people who attended Shakira's concert at MetLife Stadium just outside of New York City in East Rutherford May 15 may have been exposed to measles. Officials alerted the public about a "newly identified case of measles," sharing in a news release that a non-New Jersey resident attended the concert "while infectious." They said that individuals are "urged to be aware of the symptoms of this highly contagious virus" and to make sure they're up to date on their shots. The NJDOH went on to caution that anyone who attended the "Hips Don't Lie" hitmaker's show "may have been exposed to measles" and instructed "anyone who suspects an exposure or illness" to call a health care provider before physically going to a medical office. E! News has reached out to Shakira, MetLife Stadium and Live Nation for comment and has yet to hear back. Officials noted that measles symptoms typically include cough, fever and a rash "that usually appears between three and five days after symptoms begin." They also noted that "potentially exposed individuals, if infected, could develop symptoms as late as June 6, 2025." More from E! Everything to Know After Jamal Roberts' Victory Why Survivor Fans Think Editing Error Spoiled Season 48 Finale That being said, the NJDOH shared that "no additional associated cases in New Jersey have been identified." The potential measles outbreak at Shakira's concert comes a few months after the 48-year-old had to cancel a February show in Peru after being hospitalized. "I am sorry to inform you all that last night I had to go to the ER for an abdominal issue," the "Beautiful Liar" singer wrote on her Instagram Stories at the time. "The doctors whose care I am currently under have communicated that I am not in good enough condition to perform this evening." Shakira—mom to sons Milan, 12, and Sasha, 10, with ex Gerard Piqué—added that she was "very sad" that she wouldn't be able to take the stage that night. As she explained, "I've been looking forward to reuniting with my incredible fans here in Peru." Earlier that month, Shakira was joined by her sons at the 2025 Grammys in Los Angeles, where she reflected on her personal and professional journey. "I've grown a lot," Shakira told E! News. "I've learned a lot of lessons. Life hasn't always been kind, but it's been a good teacher." Keep reading for more stars who have gone through health scares... Anthony Anderson's Home Broken Into by 3 Men

Originally appeared on E! Online Anthony Anderson was the victim of a home invasion. Authorities confirmed to NBC Los Angeles that three men broke into the Black-ish star's Encino home May 18 at around 11 p.m. It is still unclear if anything was taken, police told the outlet. While law enforcement sources were able to confirm the affected home was owned by Anderson—who shares two adult children Kyra, 28, and Nathan, 25, with ex Alvina Stewart—they did not share whether anyone was home at the time of the break-in. The investigation into the break-in is ongoing, and arrests connected to the case have not yet been made, authorities told NBC Los Angeles. E! News has reached out to Anderson's rep and police for further comment but has not yet heard back. Anderson is not the first celebrity that has recently dealt with this kind of crime. In fact, athletes like Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow all had their homes broken into in 2024. In February, authorities arrested seven Chilean nationals in connection to the athletes' burglaries, estimating that more than $2 million worth of property was taken from the football players' homes. tk More from E! Bilson, for her part, recently detailed the conversation she had with Neiers and Tamyo after she had them as guests on her podcast in 2022, over 10 years after the robberies. 'I'm old enough and grown past it enough, you were a kid,' Bilson explained. 'Like, you want to talk about it—fine. I'm not gonna be like, 'Oh, it's cool whatever,' but I wasn't going to give them a hard time either. It was kind of just like, 'Sure, say your piece. That's fine.' You were kids but it was so f--ked up. There's no way around that.' Indeed, Partridge also explained the ramifications of her own home robbery in a 2022 Netflix documentary. 'After my house was broken into,' she said in The Real Bling Ring: Hollywood Heist. "I was the most terrified I've ever been in my entire life."
