Body found in search for 21-year-old man
A body has been found in the search for a missing 21-year-old man, police have said. Wiltshire Police said on Tuesday afternoon that divers looking for Sebastian Sailes, who vanished after leaving a pub in Chippenham on 27 February, had recovered a body. The force said that while formal identification has not yet taken place, Mr Sailes' family have been made aware of the discovery. Supt James Brain said the development would be "devastating" for his family and offered his "sincere condolences". Mr Sailes was last seen walking along Lovers Walk in Chippenham at around 23:30 GMT after leaving the Black Horse Pub, and is thought to have headed south on Avon Valley Walk towards his home in Notton. Wiltshire Police said officers, volunteers from Wiltshire Search and Rescue, Lowland Rescue Oxfordshire, specialist support teams from other forces, local businesses and support charities had been working "tirelessly" to find him. In a public appeal for information issued on 5 March, his family said they were "very close", describing him as a "much-loved son". Search teams looking for him had previously located another body in the same area - that of a man in his 70s - with police saying the discovery was not linked to Mr Sailes' disappearance.
