Max Clark, Sebastian Walcott highlight star-studded MLB Futures Game rosters

Major League Baseball announced the rosters for the 2025 MLB All-Star Futures Game on Monday and the game is set to feature several of the game's top 50 prospects, including Detroit Tigers outfielder Max Clark (No. 2) and Texas Rangers shortstop Sebastian Walcott (No. 3). The game will take place on Saturday, July 12 in Atlanta as part of MLB's All-Star Weekend. Advertisement Clark and Walcott are the top two prospects still in the minor leagues after No. 1 prospect Roman Anthony debuted with the Boston Red Sox earlier this month. Other top 50 prospects on the rosters include Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Andrew Painter (No. 5), San Diego Padres shortstop Leodalis De Vries (No. 10), St. Louis Cardinals shortstop J.J. Wetherholt (No. 12), Colorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Condon (No. 14), Tigers shortstop Kevin McGonigle (No. 16), Chicago White Sox outfielder Braden Montgomery (No. 20), Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder/first baseman Josue De Paula (No. 23), New York Yankees shortstop George Lombard, Jr. (No. 27), Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Jesús Made (No. 28), White Sox left-hander Noah Schultz (No. 30), Dodgers outfielder Zyhir Hope (No. 39), Minnesota Twins shortstop Kaelen Culpepper (No. 45), Red Sox outfielder Jhostynxon Garcia (No. 46), Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Trey Yesavage (No. 47) and New York Mets right-hander Jonah Tong (No. 50). Painter isn't expected to pitch in the game, however, as it won't fit with his current pitching schedule. Seattle Mariners switch-pitcher Jurrangelo Cijntje is also scheduled to appear in the game, as are fellow 2024 first-round picks Yesavage, Culpepper, Montgomery, Wetherholt, Condon, Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop/center fielder Konnor Griffin, Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Slade Caldwell and New York Mets outfielder Carson Benge. The 2025 MLB Draft kicks off on Sunday, July 13. Tong currently leads all minor leaguers in strikeouts with 115 and Yesavage is second with 104. McGonigle ranks fourth in OPS (1.083). Griffin is 10th in the minor leagues in stolen bases with 37. The 2025 All-Star Futures Game rosters have been unveiled! — Minor League Baseball (@MiLB) June 30, 2025 Notably absent from the roster are top-10 prospects Samuel Basallo (No. 4) of the Baltimore Orioles, Aidan Miller (No. 9) of the Phillies, Colt Emerson (No. 6) of the Mariners, Bubba Chandler (No. 7) of the Pirates and Franklin Arias (No. 8) of the Red Sox. The Red Sox (Garcia) and Yankees (Lombard) currently each only have one prospect participating in the game, surprising because Boston — which boasts the second-best farm system in baseball — has several top prospects that would have been worthy of selection, including Arias, and the Yankees also have prospects who would have been a good fit for this game; fast-rising right-hander Carlos Lagrange is one example. Advertisement The top-ranked Mariners farm system isn't sending its top prospect in Emerson but does have three other well-regarded prospects on the roster — Cijntje, catcher Harry Ford and power-hitting outfielder Lazaro Montes. Both Ford and Montes were on the preseason top 100 prospect list. Detroit also has three prospects on the roster — Clark, McGonigle and catcher Josue Brinceño. The seven-inning prospect showcase game will pit the American League — managed by Marquis Grissom — against the National League, led by manager Chipper Jones. Grissom may have the opportunity to play match-ups against his son, Marquis Grissom, Jr., who is a right-handed pitching prospect for the Washington Nationals and is on the roster for the National League. Every MLB team is currently represented by at least one prospect, though last minute roster changes due to MLB promotions or injuries are not uncommon. Atlanta, the host team, has two pitchers on the National League roster, 2022 first-round pick JR Ritchie and left-handed reliever Hayden Harris.
