Women take lead in mega yoga session at Ramateertham temple
Hundreds of women participated in a large-scale yoga session held at the historic Ramateertham temple on Thursday. The event was part of the district administration's initiative to promote temple tourism by holding yoga camps at iconic locations. The turnout of women surpassed that of men at the Ramateertham temple. The initiative was spearheaded by Joint Collector and nodal officer of Yogandhra-2025 Sedhu Madhavan, who had coordinated arrangements for mega yoga camps previously at Ramanarayanam temple, Chintapalli and other places. Speaking to media, Mr. Madhavan emphasised that importance of physical fitness for women as they juggle multiple responsibilities in their daily lives. He said, 'Practising simple yoga exercises daily will keep them fit and help overcome stress due to changes in lifestyle. The next mega camp is being organised at Thatipudi reservoir, another important tourist spot.' Mr. Madhavan said that the district administration is planning to send 1 lakh yoga practitioners to RK Beach in Visakhapatnam on June 21 for the International Yoga Day celebrations.'

Fading tourist spots turn lively with yoga camps in Vizianagaram
District Collector B.R. Ambedkar and Joint Collector Sedhu Madhavan's initiative to organise yoga camps at tourist locations in the district turned fruitful with many enthusiasts turning up in scores to participate. The district administration organised a yoga camp at the Chintapalli beach, which became less popular among tourists, in Pusapatirega mandal on Friday. The camp attracted around 1,000 persons who had come from different places. Mr. Ambedkar said that yoga camps would also be organised at Thatipudi reservoir and other places in a phased manner till 21 June. He urged people to practice yoga everyday to have peace of mind and for physical fitness which is needed to overcome work stress and other challenges in life. Mr. Madhavan thanked the participants for coming all the way to the beach in the early hours. The administration had also recently organised a mega yoga camp at the famous Ramanarayanam temple. In may be mentioned here that the State government launched a month-long Yogandhra programme in the run up to the International Yoga Day celebrations on June 21 in Visakhapatnam.

One lakh people from Vizianagaram will take part in Yoga programme at Bhimili: Joint Collector Sedhu Madhavan
Vizianagaram Joint Collector Sedhu Madhavan directed officials of all the departments concerned to mobilis around one lakh people from Vizianagaram district and encourage them to participate in mega yoga programme to be held in Bheemunipatnam of Visakhapatnam district on the eve of International Yoga Day to be observed on June 21. According to him, mobilisation of one lakh people would be easy as Bheemunipatnam is very close to several mandals of Vizianagaram district. As the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to participate in the event, the district is planning to make it as a grand success and bring laurels to the district with its efforts to gather huge number of people for the programme. who visited various tourism spots including Thatipudi reservoir directed the officials to arrange yoga camps in a big way. Chintapalli, Ramateertham, Thatipudi, and other areas were selected for special yoga camps planned between June 6 to June 19. T-shirts, yoga mats have to be given to the participants. Spot registration desks are needed to be established at those selected places since many of them might have not registered their names in Yogandhra portal. Vizianagaram District Rural Development Agency Project Director Kalyana Chakravarthi and other officials assured Mr. Madhavan that the special care would be taken up all yoga programmes planned in different places of the district as well as Bheemunipatnam. Mr. Chakravarthi said that all the participants will be provided bus facility to reach Bheemunipatnam by 5.30 pm on June 21. He said that youngsters were keen to participate in the mega event.

Officials keen to make rural people participate in Yogandhra-2025
Vizianagaram Collector B.R. Ambedkar and Joint Collector Sedhu Madhavan directed all Mandal-level officers to make people living in rural areas also to participate in Yogandhra-2025, which is a month long programme being observed between May 21st to June 21st, 2025. According to the officials, around 4,400 yoga trainers were identified to train the people under this programme named as One Earth-One Health. The Mandal-level officials have to make people enrol in the yoga portal which would in turn help them to know about the nearby yoga centres and trainers. Vizianagaram Municipal Commissioner P. Nallanayya said that mass yoga programme would be conducted on May 26th in Vizinaagaram under the guidance of yoga trainers. Senior yoga trainer Borra Kaleswara Rao hailed the government initiative and said that this mass yoga programme would make people know about the importance of fitness and healthy habits in their day to day life.
