Turnstile Go All Ari Aster in the Pit in Double Video for ‘Seein' Stars' and ‘Birds'

When Charli XCX dubbed it a 'Turnstile Summer' at Coachella, it seems she meant it's going to be a lush, ominous, head-cracking kind of season. That is, if the hardcore band's new video for 'Seein' Stars' and 'Birds' is any indication. A perfect demonstration of Turnstile's dichotomy — blistering hardcore mixed with endlessly inventive melodies — the double video starts off dreamy, with a gaggle of dancers undulating to soaring vocals and Bill and Ted-esque electric guitars. Dev Hynes, a.k.a. Blood Orange, and Hayley Williams also lend vocals to 'Seein' Stars,' with the band's Brendan Yates and Pat McCrory directing the visuals. Both songs come from Never Enough, the band's long-awaited fourth studio album, following Glow On, which earned them two Grammy nods. 'I always feel like there's not really any measure of greatness when it comes to music because music can reach people in so many different ways and different scales. The impact it can leave on someone is impossible to measure,' Yates told Rolling Stone at the time. 'Once you accept that, you can look at things through a different lens. Being recognized on one scale that's a universally accepted platform — that somehow a band like ours from Baltimore is being recognized by different people from different worlds — is super cool and exciting.' Never Enough — which was produced by Yates and features new guitarist Meg Mills — drops on June 6th. Watch Rosé Take on Charli XCX's Apple Dance at Brooklyn Show

Rosé became the latest Brat fan to prove her apple dance skills. The Blackpink singer took the spotlight during Charli XCX's concert at Barclays Center in Brooklyn last night to showcase the viral choreography. Charli XCX performed four nights at the venue, welcoming a celeb-filled audience both evenings, including Nicole Kidman. During her recent shows she has invited numerous notable figures to dance along to her beloved apple dance. Earlier in Charli XCX's Barclays run, Clairo was crowned its queen. It became extremely popular on TikTok, and was embraced by the singer herself. When Charli XCX recently performed at Coachella, the cameras locked on Alex Consani, Gabbriette, and Quenlin Blackwell as they led the dance. Next up, Charli XCX will head to Europe for a series of music festival. She'll perform at We Love Green in Paris, Primavera Porto in Porto, Portugal, and Flow Festival in Helsinki. The singer is also helming her own Lido Festival in London. Rosé unveiled her debut solo album, Rosie, last year. It features 12 tracks, including singles 'Apt.,' featuring Bruno Mars, and 'Number One Girl.' The full-length project follows Rosé's debut solo singles in 2021, 'On the Ground' and 'Gone.' She first shared the news about her album in October 2024. 'I have poured my blood and tears into this album,' she wrote on Instagram, adding, 'I cannot wait for you to listen to this little journal of mine.' Last month, Rosé joined Coldplay onstage in Goyang, South Korea, to perform 'Apt.' Turnstile Shares New Video & Songs Featuring Vocals From Dev Hynes & Paramore's Hayley Williams: Listen

Turnstile is giving fans a two-for-one special Wednesday (April 30), with a music video debut that features new songs 'Seein' Stars' and 'Birds,' both from the band's upcoming album, Never Enough, out June 6. The former track dreamily glides along to an echoing guitar, kicking rhythm and Brendan Yates' soaring voice, which is joined by special guests Devonté Hynes (aka Blood Orange) and Paramore's Hayley Williams. 'Birds' shifts the vibe entirely, with the explosive drumming, shredding guitars and high-energy delivery that fans have come to know and love from the hardcore rockers. The dual song drop follows the announcement earlier this month of the band's new album — its first in four years following the highly acclaimed, Grammy-nominated Glow On — and the release of the Never Enough title track. While Mike Elizondo (Linkin Park, Fiona Apple, Eminem) produced the last record, Yates takes the production reins on the new album, which was recorded between the band's hometown of Baltimore and Los Angeles. Turnstile will play a record release show June 5 in Brooklyn, N.Y., before going on a more extensive tour including festival stops at Primavera Sound, Glastonbury, Ottawa Blues and III Points, among others. Turnstile Unveil New Songs 'Seein' Stars' (Featuring Hayley Williams) and 'Birds': Stream

The post Turnstile Unveil New Songs 'Seein' Stars' (Featuring Hayley Williams) and 'Birds': Stream appeared first on Consequence. Turnstile have released two new songs, 'Seein' Stars' and 'Birds,' from their upcoming album, NEVER ENOUGH, along with a seamless music video for both tracks. The double single showcases the two sides of the band's sound. 'Seein' Stars' is the softer pop song, with guest vocals from some well-known singers — Devonté Hynes (Blood Orange) and Hayley Williams (Paramore) — and a disco-esque guitar riff that conjures up David Bowie's 'Let's Dance.' Get Turnstile Tickets Here Meanwhile, 'Birds' is a two-minute sprint that sees Turnstile in full mosh mode — a reminder they can still dish out some potent hardcore. The accompanying music video, directed by singer Brendan Yates and guitarist Pat McCrory, artfully bridges the disparate tracks like a short film. The clip for 'Seein' Stars' is appropriately more lilting and chill, whereas the 'Birds' portion is an energetic performance video, albeit with some stylized cinematography — particularly during the drum solo that bridges the two songs. We've now heard three singles from NEVER ENOUGH following the release of the title track earlier this month — a Heavy Song of the Week selection. The highly anticipated LP marks Turnstile's first album with new guitarist Meg Mills, with the rest of the lineup rounded out by Yates, McCrory, bassist Franz Lyons, and drummer Daniel Fang. So far, no headlining US tour dates have been announced in support of the album's release, although Turnstile have several European and UK festivals lined up for June, followed by the Ottawa Blues Festival in July and the Aftershock festival in Sacramento in October.
