PUTRAJAYA: Special education students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Putrajaya Presint 8(2) have made history by setting a new record in the Malaysia Book of Records. Their giant hand-stamped Jalur Gemilang artwork measures 8.13 metres wide and 3.56 metres high. The project involved 120 students from the school's Special Education Integration Programme (PPKI) and took two weeks to complete. They were supported by 27 dedicated special education teachers and administrators throughout the process. Headmistress Zamzuriah Md Desa highlighted the initiative's dual purpose of celebrating creativity and fostering patriotism. 'This project not only showcases the artistic talent of PPKI students, but also helps nurture their love for the country, something that must be cultivated from a young age,' she said. Zamzuriah praised the special education teachers as unsung heroes for their unwavering commitment. 'These educators are trained to teach, mentor and assist students in all aspects of learning, both formal and informal,' she added. The completed artwork is now proudly displayed in the school hall. The official unveiling was conducted by Muhammad Fikri Khalid@Aziz, special officer to the Prime Minister's political secretary. The 8.13-metre-wide and 3.56-metre-high piece was completed over two weeks by 120 students from the school's Special Education Integration Programme (PPKI), with support from 27 special education teachers and administrators. Headmistress Zamzuriah Md Desa said the initiative aimed to celebrate the creativity of students with special needs while instilling a strong sense of patriotism.

The visiting dignitary arrived at Perdana Putra earlier for a bilateral meeting with Anwar. Students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Putrajaya Presint 8 (1) greeted both leaders with chants of 'Welcome to Malaysia.' A cultural performance by Istana Budaya dancers showcased the Tingkah MADANI dance. Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan were among the attendees. Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan and Human Resources Minister Steven Sim also joined the event. Yunus arrived in Malaysia yesterday for a three-day official visit at Anwar's invitation. Wisma Putra stated that this visit reciprocates Anwar's trip to Bangladesh in October 2024. Total trade between Malaysia and Bangladesh reached RM13.35 billion in 2024, marking a 5.1 per cent increase from 2023. Bangladesh remains Malaysia's second-largest trading partner in South Asia. Key Malaysian exports to Bangladesh include petroleum products, palm oil, and chemicals. Textiles, footwear, and manufactured goods are among Bangladesh's major exports to Malaysia. Also in attendance were Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan and Human Resources Minister Steven Sim. Earlier, Yunus was accorded an official welcome at Perdana Putra, followed by a bilateral meeting with Anwar. Yunus and his official delegation arrived in Malaysia on Monday (Aug 11) for a three-day official visit, at the invitation of Anwar. According to a statement issued by Wisma Putra, Yunus's visit, accompanied by several advisers and senior government officials, reciprocates Anwar's official trip to Bangladesh in October 2024. In 2024, total trade between Malaysia and Bangladesh reached RM13.35bil (US$2.92bil), an increase of 5.1% compared with 2023. Bangladesh is Malaysia's second-largest trading partner and export destination in South Asia. In 2024, Poland was ranked as Malaysia's 8th largest trading partner among European Union member states, with total bilateral trade rising by 19.5 per cent to RM5.66 billion compared to 2023. Malaysia's primary exports to Poland include electrical and electronic products, rubber products and machinery, while key imports from Poland consist of machinery, equipment and parts, electrical and electronic products and transport equipment.
