Rajinikanth's Coolie movie tickets cost shocking Rs 2000 in Bangalore to just Rs 57 in Chennai. Check prices in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata

Fans are eagerly awaiting Rajinikanth 's much-anticipated film Coolie , directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Touted as one of the biggest movies of the year, it is slated to hit theatres on August 14. Advance bookings are already open in cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Kochi, and Chandigarh. However, bookings are yet to open in major markets like Hyderabad. Within just 30 minutes of opening, the film broke box office records by selling 10,000 tickets. High to Low Ticket Prices for Coolie In Delhi, ticket prices range from Rs 180 at MSX Cinemas to Rs 1,000 for recliner seats at Select City Walk. What caught everyone's attention, though, were the surprisingly high prices for early-morning shows (between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.) at single-screen theatres. At Swagath Shankar Nag on M.G. Road in Bengaluru, Gold Recliner seats were priced at Rs 2,000, while gold seats were Rs 1,500 and Silver or Lounge seats cost Rs 1,000. Across cities like Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai, early-morning and morning shows averaged around Rs 300 to Rs 500 per ticket. Reportedly, a few more single-screen theatres in Bengaluru are expected to begin early-morning shows soon, with ticket prices likely to be Rs 1,000. In contrast, most shows in Chennai are already sold out at major cinema halls. Interestingly, ticket prices there start as low as Rs 57 and go up to Rs 190 for premium seats. Limited Hindi Release and Government Cap on Ticket Prices According to several reports, as of 10 PM on August 10 (Sunday), Coolie had a limited release in Hindi at Inox and Cinepolis for its opening day. For context, in the 2025–26 Budget, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah proposed capping movie ticket prices at Rs 200 for all shows in the state, including multiplexes. On July 14, the government issued a 15-day notice to stakeholders potentially affected by the rule. However, there has been no official update since. More About Coolie The film is clashing with War 2 , starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, which has limited Coolie's showtimes, especially in the North. Still, unlike most Tamil films, Coolie opted for an 8-week theatrical window before heading to OTT platforms, which helped secure decent slots in multiplexes. Despite this, the clash led to Coolie losing nearly 90% of single screens to War 2 and missing out on prime-time shows in major North Indian cities. Besides Rajinikanth in the lead role, Coolie features a star-studded cast including Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Pooja Hegde, and Sathyaraj. Have you booked your tickets for Coolie yet?
